I purchased this power supply to test some antique tube-based geiger counters that originally ran on obsolete high-voltage batteries connected in series. Since modern replacements for these 45V or 67.5V batteries can be quite expensive, I wanted a reliable and adjustable power source to confirm the functionality of my equipment before making a larger investment. This power supply turned out to be a perfect solution.Right out of the box, I was impressed by its compact size—it was smaller than I expected, making it easy to fit on my workbench without taking up too much space. The setup was straightforward, and adjusting the voltage was simple and precise. I tested it on multiple pieces of vintage electronics, and it performed flawlessly in every case. The voltage output was stable, and I encountered no issues with noise or fluctuation, which is crucial when dealing with sensitive tube-based circuits.If you're working with old tube electronics or any other equipment that requires adjustable high-voltage DC power, this unit is an excellent choice. It's cost-effective, reliable, and easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing a flexible power solution for vintage or specialized electronic projects.

It works great to test out motors that are not working

Does what it should and provides voltages up to 24VDC. Setting accurate voltages where you use the numbers to the right of the decimal point are a bit wonky as you have to turn all of the knobs.

Before plugging in this unit, ensure to check the back input voltage selection switch. Upon arrival, mine was set to 230V, prompting me to adjust it to my desired 115V.I appreciate the front switch being a physical power switch that cuts power from the device, resulting in zero power draw when the unit is not in use.Adjustment is remarkably straightforward, thanks to dedicated knobs for voltage and current. The coarse adjustment knob alters the integer number, such as 10V to 11V, while the fine adjustment knob modifies the lowest decimal place, for instance, 10.01V to 10.02V. These knobs function as encoders.Conducting voltage ripple measurements at various current loads revealed a ripple of 540 mVpp at 30V 5A, and 360 mVpp at 30V 1A. The over-current protection kicks in within approximately 0.5 seconds. The unit offers two over-current modes: the standard constant current mode and the over-current protection (OCP). Switching between these modes, located on the front right next to the USB ports, allows the unit to beep when the current limit is reached. Simultaneously, OCP flashes on the current display while restricting the current.Intrigued by the internal construction, I removed the cover and captured a few photos. While not poorly constructed, the unit lacks isolation slots separating line voltage from DC voltage – a feature I would have appreciated. Additionally, the Chengx brand electrolytic capacitors, rated for a 105C environment, seem sufficient for a few years. Nevertheless, I am considering replacing them with higher-quality brands to enhance reliability and potentially improve ripple performance.In conclusion, this compact power supply proves to be a valuable addition to my workbench.

This thing is pure garbage, I ordered it because I needed something quickly for a specific task that I was already behind on and it worked for 2 minutes before turning off and never turning back on again. Do not waste your time with this one there are plenty of other brands that work better with the same design this one is just a fancy doorstop.

I would not recommend buying this. It is very finicky. It keeps on beeping at me and doesn’t power things correctly. I think you should spend a little bit more money to get something better.

Nice looking unit, great displays and user friendly controls to set voltage and current. Unfortunately the output is very noisy, not suitable for anything analog. Ok for battery charging or powering digital circuits. Just wish it made clean DC power.. but nope.
