A great addition to my workshop
For many years I have been a regular reader of the American magazine Fine Woodworking, I particularly enjoy their annual Tools & Shops issue. In this year’s issue I saw an article on the Dustopper Pro and wanted to buy one.I was very pleased to find that I could purchase a Dustopper Pro from the USA via Amazon Prime without having to pay delivery charges. It arrived quickly and in very sturdy packaging. It is very well made and the instructions for using it were very clear and easy to understand. My only problem was finding a 5 US gallon bucket in the UK!Many 5 gallon buckets on sale here 25 litre buckets and the Dustopper Pro does not fit them. Then I discovered that Screwfix sell a Marshalltown 5 gallon bucket, made in the USA, which is a perfect fit for the Dustopper Pro.I am very happy with my purchase as emptying the bucket is so much easier than emptying either of my two workshop vacuum cleaners.

The Duststopper Pro - the easy alternative to a cyclone
I’ve used those tall cyclone dust separators for several years, and have a large one set up in my workshop, but when working around the house I found the height of them, when coupled to a plastic drum to be awkward to say the least. So having read several reviews of the the Duststopper Pro I thought I’d give one a go. Not generally available on the UK I found Amazon would ship one over from the states. They come ready to attachment to a 5 gallon bucket, actually easily available in the UK. Coupled up to a vac , in my case a dewalt it proved great for several serious DIY jobs I’ve started. With a set of Quick Click hoses, it worked very well with a range of Makita 18v tools I use. With hindsight I should have bought the version with the 90 degree elbows, but it’s a great addition to my dust collection system. A great purchase, well worth the extra over and above the cheap cyclones

Excellent performance but a little difficult to fit it to a standard UK vacuum cleaner.
Excellent performance but you do need a 5 gallon bucket. I got one from Halfords with no problem. It is made of fairly thick plastic which I think will be robust enough but I have not had it long enough to be sure. The instructions say the connections are 2.5inch but the inside diameter is a little smaller (more like 2.25"). I found it a little difficult to find adapters to connect it to a standard vacuum cleaner in the UK. This is why I have given it 4 stars rather than 5.It connected to my shop vacuum with no problem.Once the connections are sorted out it works very well. The main reason I purchased it is because it is made of plastic and is light and compact enough to easily transport in my car. I put the connectors and tubing inside it whilst transporting it..
