Expensive But Good Performers
Can't see my garage doors from inside the house, so I added these switches to my existing Hue system. Easy to check the doors now without having to walk around, and you can also check when out and about via the Hue app. You do need a Hue Base Station for these to work though, so they're not a standalone item. Like most Hue sensors, they're a little expensive, but setup and connection to my system went easily. Battery powered; the manual says they should last about three years (depending on door usage, of course) and you do get a notification when the battery is low. Package comes with two CR2 lithium batteries which worked just fine.

A great addition to the smart home!
Great for every smart home. I currently use these to automate my closet lights. Open the door and worry no more about the draw string. Close the door and never worry about forgetting a light again. Great for securing your house too. Easy to set up, and it works for apple HomeKit!

Smart solution for a bathroom lighting problem—my guests and parents love it
I installed this Philips Hue Secure Contact Sensor on my bathroom door to work in tandem with my motion sensor lighting, and it solved an issue I didn’t even know had a clean fix. Before, the lights would turn on automatically when someone entered—but because no one ever used the switch, they’d stay on until the motion timer ran out. Not ideal, especially when hosting. Now, with the contact sensor installed, the lights turn off as soon as the door is closed and remain off until it’s opened again. It’s been a subtle but meaningful upgrade that’s particularly helpful for guests and older family members who appreciate not fumbling for a switch. The system feels more responsive and intentional. I’m sure there are tons of other creative ways to use this sensor, but even just in this one application, it’s already proving its value. If you entertain often or have aging family in your home, this is a quiet workhorse that will elevate your setup.

Reliable and useful
Integrated with google home system to set up front door alerts for when the 2 year goes in and out of specific rooms. Had some issues with range from the hub which I wanted in the basement. Overall a reliable product with the hub.

Super easy to use and setup
I recently got the Philips Hue door sensor, and I’m really impressed with it. The setup was super easy—I had it connected and working in just a few minutes with no hassle. It’s very convenient to use, especially since it automatically triggers my lights when I open the door, which makes coming home at night much nicer. Highly recommend if you want a simple and smart way to control your lights.

Amazing amazon day deal
Saw these for less than half peice during amazon day. So i bought two sets. I should have bought more honestly. Its nice being able to see which door is open and getting a notification when you arm an alrm is nice as well. Not sure about battery life yet. Value was AMAZING though, too good to pass up at the time, I cant wait for next amazon day to buy more if they have the same sale again

I wanted HomeKit door sensors on my doors, as my main door has a smart lock the send notifications. Having several Hue light sets, picked up a pair of door sensors for a decent price. First, these are a lot smaller than I thought they were. They were easy to set up and install. They come with a dual sided tape to connect to the door frame/wall. You can use screws to mount the main sensor, but the kit does not come with screws. It needs flat headed screws or else the screws will interfere with the sensor sliding onto the base. As Hue is a premium product I expected the screws to be provided but they were not. Luckily after some searching I found suitable screws. The sensor itself has two pieces and works with a magnet. My door frame has trim boards around the frame, so the one portion of the sensor does not sit flat. But following the instructions it was not an issue at all. Before securing with tape, I ensured the sensor works. Open the door and the light flashes. Close the door and the light flashes. There is a replaceable battery in the main sensor. Installation difficult: Minimal difficult. Test alignment before applying double-sided tape. Now for the app. In the Hue App there is an option to arm or disarm your devices. When armed you receive a notification the door has been open or closed. You can set an alarm of various types, including flashing specific or all Hue lights. So you can make your lights all flash red when someone opens a door (or whatever device). I have been having issues with my Hue and HomeKit comparability, so at this time I cannot comment on that. I hope to have to door senses work with my HomeKit though. Aside from the lack of screws, which was only a minor annoyance, Hue needs to do a better job showing the size of the device. Given the size of the box and photos online I expected the door sensors to be much larger than they really are. Even the box they come is is mostly filled with filler and could be packaged much smaller. Not sure why Hue does those, as it’s better to have smaller sensors.

Needed something that work with Apple HomeKit and I already had Hue products. This was easy to had to my setup and I was happy to see how good it worked. The sensor have a ring that confirm the contact is working. Also the magnet part is quite strong and was trigger in any directions as long as it’s close enough.

Very easy sync, setup and installation; like all Philips Hue devices that I have purchased in the past. Can easily be set up to call you, notify you and set your lights to flash white or red in the event you have an unwelcome visitor. Fantastic product from a brand that has been reliable to me for years now.

I like that they are an integrated part of the Philips Hue security system. It turned into something I use pretty much every day when I set up the "arm" node on the security system and detect the opening of any doors & windows. You're able to buy additional individual ones, but I didn't need to. The sensors work super reliably and have lights to indicate their mode. I do wish these would also pair up with ecobee app at the same time, but oh well. Philips Hue's limitations in my opinion always come from the software (app) and not the hardware.
