Amazing! Worth the money! Holds a lot of weight no problem
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Works amazing! Never gets stuck which was my biggest concern. 300lb+ and I have plenty of room to walk. The control makes it very easy to change speeds. The handle bar is worth it. I’m 5’7 and I do wish it was a bit taller because I have to lean a bit to hold it so keep that in mind if you’re tall. I wish they would make the bar adjustable then it would be perfect. The tray stays in place and holds my iPhone no problem. The red cord is a lifesaver. I dropped the control once and had to pull the cord and the machine stopped immediately. Dead stop so be aware if you’re going fast to brace yourself. I have never gone higher than 1.3 speed on it if that makes a difference for you.

A Quiet Walking Treadmill
UPDATE: A YEAR LATER!!Hi everyone it has been a wonderful healthy year on my treadmill desk. I lost weight, almost 20 lbs, which is all I had to lose. I am now as thin as I was as a teenager, and that was over 20 years ago. The treadmill has held up well and I log about 6 miles a day on it..wonderful!!! Everyone who has a desk job should get one of these. It has given me more energy as well.I just received this treadmill three days ago, and it was a cinch to set up, just a few minutes and I was up and walking. My main purpose for this treadmill is for a treadmill desk, and I need a model that is very quiet at low speed and can deliver consistent speed. I looked at every treadmill on the market, and this one won me over because of the controls on the handlebars, so i don't have to make room on my desk for a bulky control console, and its claim of being quiet. It is so quiet that i can hear my kids in the next room, the radio is at a normal volume and I can still hear myself think. Thank you Exerpeutic for delivering on that promise! This treadmill can handle up to 400 lbs, and the designers put a lot of thought into the dimensions of this design. It has a wide belt, and extremely sturdy side arms, plus lots of room in front of the console. I also like that it only can go up to 4 miles per hour, plenty fast for a brisk walk. I do not intend to jog or run on it, so that was not a negative for me. I have assembled my desk at just below elbow height, above the handlebars (the console I ended up mounting upside down,to fit it under the desk, since I only use the handlebar controls). I am 5'4 and it may not work for a shorter person unless you get a desk specifically designed for a treadmill. The length of the belt is relatively short, but honestly I am only using about half of the length. A very tall person walking very fast(faster than I jog!) might need a longer belt, but for most people this should fit the bill. I typed this review from my treadmill desk, and I couldn't be more pleased with this treadmill. Great walking treadmill!

More information about a good buy
First off, I am writing this review while using this treadmill as I bought it as part of a DIY treadmill desk that I read about on Jeff LeMarche's software development blog. Sitting at a desk all day using a computer is not good for your health and I've spent years trying to find the best way to compensate. Daily workouts help a great deal, but it is easy to drop the exercise when family and home issues arise. So, the nice thing about a treadmill desk is that you exercise WHILE you work, and not many of us can afford to put work aside. Two birds with one stone and all that.Jeff actually pointed to this specific treadmill in his blog and I spent time comparing models in the sub 1K$ price range and concluded this was the best option. First, with Amazon Prime, the shipping is free, effectively reducing the price by 20%. Second, it has extra long arms containing a second set of controls, perfect for a treadmill desk where you don't want to be reaching through the desk area while in motion. Next, for tall people with long strides, the deck is extra wide, 20 inches, and extra long, 40 inches, and is rated for 400 pounds, and therefore I have no worries about where I step, unlike other models in this price range. Contrariwise, the arms are really too low for a tall person like me, 6'4", and my lower back gets sore if I reach down to use them. The treadmill came in a large box, deeper at one end. I could tell that it had been roughly handled and banged up a bit somewhere between China and my house. The 150 pound package is work to move and needs a large space to unpack and I would suggest having a helper, but I manged to work it out of the box by myself by levering the top side over the box edge and pulling the other side of the box away, repeating this a few times. Mine was a bit dinged and a little extra padding around the locking bar would have helped avoid that. It doesn't seemed to have harmed anything and I don't care if it looks a bit worn in spots. The device ships locked in the "raised" position and it took a bit of investigation to see that I had to pull the black knob on the left side to unlock it to start assembling as per the instructions. The instruction book makes it look harder to assemble than it actually is, you only have to add in the leg extensions, then attach the computer panel. I did it myself in under ten minutes. The booklet contains the company name Paradigm and links to paradigmhw.com if you were trying to find who the makers are, by the way, and this treadmill appears as item 1020 if you want to download the manual before buying. The belt comes pre-lubricated, according to the manual, but the box contains a bottle of lubricant and an Allen wrench for making adjustments. The manual is minimal and the control system is minimal, too. When you start the treadmill you shouldn't be standing on the belt, stand on the side rail and give it some seconds to get rolling before you step on. The first few times I used it I found it too easy to hit the on/off button on the arm, and it sounds bad when it halts with your weight on it. I've taken to stepping off the belt and onto the side rails when I stop it, it can't hurt the mechanism but you need to do it like stepping off an escalator. If you are unsure then slow the belt down to the minimum speed before exiting. The sound of the running belt is not very noticeable and people in the next room do not hear it unless the belt stops and growls if I am standing on it. The speed is set in 0.1 increments from 0.4 to 4.0. The build quality is somewhere between good and very good and we'll see how it holds out over time. It is not top of the line, but not junk, either. So far, I'm happy. If it holds out over time I'll come back and give it the maximum rating. So far, I'm very happy with the purchase and glad that Amazon offers to ship this under Prime, saving $100+ in shipping.
