Great Fashion Tips, Lovely Patterns
I would classify myself as a beginning knitter, and very much a plus sized girl. I would also classify this book as fantastic. I've made the Yo! Ga Pants and Bombshell as well as the Boobalicious tank and all of them came out fantastically. I love the extra information in the front of the book about how to resize and adjust patterns as well as her classifications for the rounder body types. I have a large bust size and a belly problem but no butt so seeing the patterns that helped with that classified in such a way really helped me decide which patterns to make. The instructions were incredibly clear (especially for short rows) and I had no trouble even as a beginner following them. The only complaint I have is that several of the "boob girl" patterns are very short lengthwise, though it is very easy to lengthen them. Some of the yarns are no longer manufactured but the owner of my local yarn store easily helped me to locate equivalencies, and when he didn't know a quick check on Ravelry to see which yarns other people had used definitely helped. Overall the patterns helped me to be more adventurous with the clothing I wear and really helped me learn fitting in knitting. Very much recommend!

Yes, No, and "not so much"......
I did read all the reviews and took a chance.Pros - patterns for "curvy" figures that might be adaptable for a project.Cons - not really pretty patterns; way too fitted; way to low cut for me. I must agree with another reviewer that none of the patterns were especially flattering to any of the models, in either style or color. And, a personal peeve - did no one at these photo shoots have a hairbrush......? All that big, messy hair just overwhelmed the pretty girls featured. Bottom line - if you are over 40 and/or never go "clubbing", these designs aren't going to be very helpful. My copy of this book is probably going to the library. Disappointing......

Cute, flattering designs for plus-sized "girls"
This book is fantastic. It gives good explanations about what to accentuate and what to avoid in terms of plus-size knit wear. It describes how to make sure you get the right fit for your body type (boobs, belly, or butt). And it has patterns for really pretty fashions that will flatter -- and celebrate -- the plus-size figure. These are not straight up-and-down, boxy designs that you get in a lot of "full figure" knitting books.I think all of the patterns in the book are good! My favorites are the fitted tank top, the cherry-patterned "swing jacket" sweater, and the low-cut "wrap around" sweater, which is worthy of a good push-up bra (Lane Bryant sells some very nice full-figure push-up bras). This is not a book for wet-behind-the-ears beginners. Right now, I'm still practicing getting my knitting scarves to come out straight, so I would not attempt to make anything in the book without supervision. My next step will be to take a knitting class and use one of these patterns for my project. It will be helpful to have the instructor's advice.Oh -- one more plus! They use "real" plus-sized women as sweater models -- not size 10's masquerading as full-figured women.

Great Learning Material
After reading about the book on Ravelry, I had to purchase it.As a basically P shaped person, I'm all heavy on top and nothing down below. I've really struggled to figure out how to alter patterns to make them work. The book has a fantastically detailed tutorial on what to do that makes the purchase of this book worth what it costs and more. The way they walk you through each technique is what I definitely needed - detailed, technical and yet written in a way that its light in tone and interesting. You won't find any boring snippets in this book!I wasn't so keen on the patterns in the book - many would look odd on my shape, but I think they are useful visuals to illustrate what is talked about in the technique sections. I was also impressed with the designers, everyone from Shannon Okey to the woman behind White Lies Designs.I would totally recommend this book to anyone looking to knit who has fit issues with average clothing. Even if you're skinny, the techniques in this book stand to good use by anyone.

A Boob's Eye View
The plus-sized women's world is divided into the three B's: Boobs, Bellies, and Butts, according to this book. They're right and I'm a Boob. There are many patterns in this book for us Boobs. And while I embrace my cleavage, the world may not be ready for this 48 year-old to rock the lacy Sexy Ribs Pullover or the wrap sweater called Lift and Separate without a cami underneath - perhaps Cherry Bomb (which I can see making over and over). Page after page of gorgeous and eminently wearable in this book, true plus-sized models, luscious colors, informative and clear text.Only Amelia Corset is unflattering to the entire universe, even my size 4 daughters. Nothing adds poundage like dividing a gal horizontally 3 times (bust and arms, tummy, and whatever bottom you wear with). That's the one pit in this yummy box of goodies. Buy the book and when we see each other on the street in our beautiful Big Girl knits, let's wink. We'll already be smiling.

Excellent Patterns for Full-figured Females
Wonderful sweaters for full-figured gals. I got one for myself and one for a friend as a present. The author offers designs for every type of full figure and has how to adapt these or other patterns if a woman's figure is fuller in certain areas. The models are realistic. They wear sweaters from the sizes given, not skinny gals with big sweaters pinned in back. The mood is fun and light-hearted, and makes the reader/knitter feel good about her (ahem) assets. Yeah!!

Big Girls
I have this and More Big Girl Knits. This book walks you through the process of adapting your patterns using your own measurements and kniting gauges. The 2nd book has more adaptations allowing you to really tailor an item to fit. Both have some nice project ideas + templates/forms for jotting down your numbers to make the mathamatics very easy to calculate and to understand how to adapt your patterns. I dont have other plus size books so cannot make comparisons, however I am happy with these books and would recommend them both

Knits for real women
I have purchased the book but have not yet tried to know any of the patterns. The knitting involved is a step or two above my knitting level. But I will keep looking at the styles and build up my courage to try one or two. Was delivered quickly and in perfect condition.

A must for curvy knitters
This book has some brilliant patterns (and some whacky ones....knitted cargo skirt, anyone?) It's a really shape positive book too. The authors guide you to patterns suited to your body shape and teach you how to customise their patterns so it really fits. I would have liked to have seen more photos before I bought the book but luckily there were enough patterns I will use. When you consider a paper pattern is £3.50, this book was well worth the £5 I paid for it. I'm already knitting the Susie Hoodie pattern in a luscious purple!

I love this book
I love this book, glad to finally have a copy of my own. The wrap cardi is lovely, and the tunic coats are pretty awesome for autumn too.

This book is a must for your knitting library. ...
This book is a must for your knitting library. It shows you how to modify knits to fit irrespective of shape and size and it does it in a way that anyone can understand it. Patterns may date but the principles of modification don't.

Book
Many interesting knitting patterns, and loads of tips for adapting patterns for fuller figures. Not knitted any from it yet, but there are quite a few must knit in here.

A little chatty but interesting patterns
The introduction was fairly chatty and the language was a little too informal for my taste throughout. But that's the book's style and it doesn't influence the content, so not a big deal. There were a few patterns in here that I'll make. I did find the discussions of what styles flattered/helped hide chest/stomach/bottom issues, which was good to know.

Good book
This is a book of really nice patterns for women who aren't skinny as a rake, and about time too! The authors give you seuggestions on what things to wear and what you shouldn't to flatter your shape and plenty of suggestions on how to alter their patterns, which is refreshing.
