I've carried a Nitecore TIP flashilight for EDC for ages. This one has everything I liked about the original TIP, but with extra brightness. Still has the 4 light output levels: Low, Med, High, and Turbo. Compared to my original TIP, High and Turbo are notably brighter, which is a nice upgrade. It still has the 2 button controls which I really like (one for on-off, the other to change the brightness settings), it still remembers what setting you last used, so when you turn it back on, it goes to that level. It also still has the reverseable, removable clip, so you can clip it to the bill of your hat, and use it like a headlamp, or reverse the clip to hold in a pocket. The clip can be removed and re-installed 'upside down' so that the leg of the clip covers the buttons so it does not turn on accidently in your pocket. Battery life and brightness are very impressive for its size. I am amazed at how bright long lasting the light is, considering how small this is. The housing is metal, not plastic, and if anything like the original TIP, will be very durable. Recharges with the included USB cord. Very well made, my original must be 5-6 years old, and is still going strong, I got this one to carry in those instances where I wanted a bit more light. Overall very happy with it. I don't give 5 star reviews very often, but this little light has earned it.

I have purchased probably seven or eight of these lights. Most were given away as gifts because I love these lights so much. I have three that I use all the time around the house and as every-day-carry lights. They are super light, bright, and last a really long time on a charge. The light is very bright. No, they aren't my brightest flashlights, but they work for 95% of what I do when not at work. They provide a very even light, which makes working on things easy. I keep them on "demo" mode unless I need them on longer. It is easy to switch in or out of demo mode. In demo mode the light stays on for only 30 seconds. This is great for when it is in your pocket and accidentally turns on. You won't kill your battery or burn your leg. It does get fairly hot when on the high setting. I did zap one when taking off a fleece jacket. There was a spark and it hit the light. The light turned on at its highest brightness and would not shut off. I couldn't get it to do anything. To fix it, I took it apart and unsoldered the battery, waited about 30 minutes for any capacitors to discharge, and soldered it back on. It still works great and that was probably 6 months ago. They don't like to be completely discharged. Always charge when you get two flashes on the battery test.

EDC is cool people talk for Every Day Carry. I'm cool now. Fantastic light output.. low level (1 lumen?) is perfect for nighttime navigation in kayak, canoe or other boat; for camping (head off to the trees, to grab a few logs, to scare off and blind an intruder, to light up the whole driveway or a dark bay near the dock, or to change a tire or search a toolbox or dark corner.. Low level's good for reading.. i've used mine 6 nights in a row. So good to be able to clip it to my hat, pocket or belt loop for hands-free. Also, The TIP SE is small and light enough to hold in your teeth. Things you canNOT do with the humongous mag®lights i've carried for years. One of the most helpful features is the 30-second timer "demo" mode. i know it'll turn itself off after i'm done. FOUR light levels.. mostly i use the second-lowest level, where it's most like a standard flashlight. The second HIGHest level is like sunlight, and the easily accessed "turbo" is insanely bright.. lights up our whole backyard and the field beyond. A quick tap of the function (top) button and it blinks to show how much charge you've got left.. Press BOTH buttons to toggle between "timer" and "stay on". It charges quickly, holds a charge for several months.. Best flashlight i've tried and it's smaller than the car key fob. (cheaper too!) Only downsides are i can't cut steel or aluminum plate with it, or boil water. It's also too easy to accidentally turn on in a pants pocket by mistake.. You can feel the heat if it's on high. You can flip the clip over to shield the buttons, which is helpful.

This was a great light it's bright and it's small for your pocket, only bad thing is it doesn't survive a washing machine, but then again they didn't say it would!

This little keychain light is so good I purchased another one after my previous one has one of the LEDs out. It still works but only half the lumens. It's now retired to the night stand. My newest one is on the key chain for daily use if needed. You will be happily surprised at the magnitude of light this little thing can throw. I charge it up once a month (20-25 min). A couple of notes that may be beneficial: On supermax it gets warm to the touch - not hot. It will shut down after 30 sec. in which case you have to push the button again. Low and medium settings stay on for a bit longer but it will shut down also having to push the on button again. Its a small inconvenience but its does save your battery from unnecessary drainage by accidentally remaining on. 3 week up date: It completely quit yesterday after owning it for 3 weeks. It will not charge or turn on. No idea. Sure glad I can still return it through Amazon.
