Works great on my Linux system... definitely a great keyboard at any price, EXCEPTIONAL at less than $15!
If not all keyboards are 'equal to' each other, this was definitely a 'greater than' all other backlit keyboards I have tried on my Linux system. To begin with, several of the others I have tried were designed specifically for Microsoft or Apple devices and any supporting features or "drivers" were only available on those systems. While most would retain the basic functionality of a keyboard, (i.e. you could type the characters on the keyboard into the software of your choice), some would not. My prior keyboard cost well over $40.00 on sale but the led feature was unavailable without enabling it deep in the system through a command line code using XSET. The keyboard would then light up but the numerical keypad was disabled...There are NO such problems with this keyboard in Linux. Just plug it in and begin using it after your computer boots. (I'm old school I guess, I always plug any input devices prior to booting so I can not attest to it being "hot swappable".)The keyboard looks great when lit and the characters are easily discernable while not being to large and "garish". The size of the illuminated letters on each key are aesthetically pleasing and in well lit situations does not require a backlight to determine the which character/key you are pressing but are still not quite as clear as a non-lit keyboard with printed characters in high contrast. This effect is the same for all backlit keyboards I have tried so far and appears to me to be the limitations of the current materials available for molding the plastic keycaps in a light dispersing plastic. The optional "breathing" effect is nice but I will seldom use this feature. The "sleep" function I have not yet discovered how to initiate on my system. The accompanying "User Manual" is sparse on any instructions with the exception of a small list of key combinations for using the FN + Function keys, (F1-F12), to control the multimedia functions of most operating systems and how to control the led keyboard itself. The light function of this keyboard is "onboard" eliminating the necessity of any extra operating system driver or software support. The keys have a nice tactile feel to them and are positioned well for extended use without discomfort. The board itself, while lightweight, has a substantial feel which leads to an impression of quality surpassing other keyboards I have tried which cost much more.If you are looking for a well built but inexpensive backlit keyboard, I feel that this is a very safe investment for almost anyone. There is one more caveat, I am not a gamer so I can not attest to how well this keyboard would function as such. However, if you are firing off a quick email to your mother, or beginning the next great American novel ...

Great keyboard for the price – love the extra features!
The media could not be loaded. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this keyboard because of the price, but I was actually really surprised—in a good way.First of all, I love the function key (Fn). When you combine it with the F1 to F12 keys, you can control music, open your email, use the calculator, skip tracks, mute the sound, and more. It just makes everything quicker. I didn’t realize how convenient that would be until I started using it.Another thing I liked is that they made the W, A, S, and D keys stand out more, which is great if you play games. They even repeated those same keys in the arrow key section, which I thought was a cool detail. The keyboard itself looks really nice—the LED rainbow lights make it look way more expensive than it actually is. It has a good size, it’s comfortable to type on, and it has this “mechanical” feel even though it’s not a mechanical keyboard. The only thing I could see some people not liking is that the lights don’t change color (they stay rainbow), but personally I think it still looks great.

Fun and Functional
I got this keyboard for my daughter’s homeschool setup and it’s been a big hit! She absolutely loves the rainbow LED lights, and I have to admit—it looks really cool. I’ve used it myself a few times and really like the feel of the keys. It has a nice typewriter-style feedback, and the letters are super easy to read. Great combo of fun and function! For the price, this keyboard is your best choice. I wish there was a wireless option!

Favorite keyboard for price. Worth every penny.
The price for this keyboard is astonishing. It’s better than some 20-30$ keyboards I have. Will be updating in the future about the quality over time but I use it for work and personal and it works great and transports great! Probably best keyboard on market for price. Feels great and love the switches on it.

My favorite keyboard on the market.
(This review is written by the account holder's daughter, the one who uses the keyboard.)I love this thing. Don't get me wrong, it has flaws. I'll cover those. But we'll go over the pros before the cons. First of all, it's not loud. I've owned two of these, and while it does get a bit louder over the years, it's still pretty quiet. Especially since the older one got soap dumped on it and was then sprayed with a hose on the jet setting. Twice. It survived the first time! Are you kidding? That's insane! Huge points for water proofing! Through the years of using these keyboards, the lights stayed functional, BUT the keys wore down a bit. Mostly my WASD keys. I absolutely adore the white and rainbow combo. It's so darling!But... It's a tad sticky. Not in the literal sense, of course. But in the membrane keyboard way. Now, this IS NOT A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD. It is "Mechanical feeling". It is a membrane keyboard, with keycaps like a mechanical. On mechanical keyboards, I can flutter my keys at the speed of light. This one feels like there's a speed limit to it. I assume this will only really be a problem for gamers. It's also pretty cheap plastic. I know I said it was durable through spills, but this is different. If you step on it, it's gone, so don't let your kids leave these on the floor or bed. Thirdly, the keycaps do come off, with use of a keycap tool, but if you're looking to switch them out, don't bother unless you're getting keycaps designed for this type. This is not compatible with classic keycaps. And of course, there's the thing most reviews have harped on, being that there's one lighting option. Most people assume when it says "7 colors" that you can switch through the colors. Nope. Your options are rainbow and off. You can adjust the brightness though, which is nice. That's not a problem for me, but it's something to be mentioned.TDLR: It's quiet, but of course it is, because it's not a mechanical keyboard. Just a membrane keyboard in a mechanical costume. It still feels like a membrane. Extremely waterproof. My old one only broke after the second time it got hosed down. The lettering wears off over time, but the lights stayed functional. 5/5!
