Top quality funghi porcini
These are excellent dried funghi porcini. They are nice, evenly sliced, large pieces and no nasty worm/grit etc debris came off them when soaked. They are described as “premium” quality and they certainly are. I will definitely buy them again.

Posh, pricey porcini that pack a powerful punch of flavour
Let's address the elephant in the room straight away: these porcini are pricey! At the time of writing this review these mushroom are selling for £14.95 per 50g bag; other dried porcini mushrooms can be purchased for a fraction of this price, usually closer to £5 for 50g. 50g of dried porcini mushrooms will feed up to 12 people, so you're looking at a pound sterling per person, therefore these are special occasion mushrooms! The mushrooms do, in their defense, have an intensity of flavour which I think is much stronger than similar dried porcinis I have tried. Certainly, I made a mushroom risotto with about one quarter of this bag of dried mushrooms, together with some standard fresh mushrooms, and the flavour was much stronger than I was expecting --- in a good way! The porcini rehydrate very well in hot water and taste fresh and high quality.Overall, yes, these are pricey mushrooms. I would be tempted to give these to a foodie friend as a present, but I would certainly let slip that these are more expensive than supermarket versions! Otherwise, this makes for an extravagant treat for dinner parties.

Superior flavour
These are a very superior product. The dried mushrooms are of a good size and have an excellent flavour so you need less than with other brands I have tried. They are excellent in stews, casseroles and, especially, risotto. While pricier than my usual purchase, the size, quality and flavour merit a premium.Recommended.

Gourmet Living Dried Porcini Mushrooms
I rehydrate these overnight to use in ramen and they work delightfully well. It's a good value for money pack considering the luxury ingredients. They taste fine after proper rehydration and I've had no issues with them at all. Brilliant in risotto. Would use again.

High price just about worth it
These are good quality poricinis at a premium price. They have a strong, delicious flavour and go a long way so the price is perhaps justified.

Nice for a special treat
I ordered these as a review product as I love porcini mushrooms and find the dried ones much more convenient than the fresh ones as I hate it when u just fancy a stroganoff and u go to the fridge and the mushrooms have gone all slimy, yuk! In my opinion these are tastier than my usual go to brand but I d find it really hard to justify the price on a regular basis though for a special meal or just a well earned treat these are well worth trying.

Top Quality Porcini
Porcini are among the most delicious mushrooms you could possibly imagine. When I was a kid I would go to pick them with one of my cousins in a coupleof highly secret locations in the forests of my family's home town in the Dolomitesin Northern Italy. Cleaned, sliced thickly, brushed with olive oil and garlic andcooked on a hot griddle and eaten with polenta; it was one of the joys of my childhood. These dried porcini are of very good quality. The 50g bag contains mostly fair-sizedpieces (many producers cleverly pack the larger pieces around the outside but onceopened you discover lots of tiddly and inferior quality bits filling up the centre. Not so here!)Re-hydrate in a bowl with hot (but not boiling water) and allow to stand for about 30 minutes.Drain through a very fine sieve and reserve the liquor (it has so much savoury deliciousness!)Wash the mushroom pieces gently to remove and grit or bits of forest floor and you're readyto cook. Great in soups, sauces, stews and (especially) risotto. (Don't forget to use the strained liquor!)Fantastic product at a very fair price.

Good mushrooms
Good, though not very strong, mushroom flavor at a very good price compared to the tiny, dried-out packets available at the supermarket. I transferred them from the cello bag to a tight-lidded jar and use them frequently in soups, stews and sauces. Nice addition to the pantry.

great flavorful porcini mushrooms--big pieces, not the crumbles you get at the grocery store
