The packaging said white miso and it looked white when it arrived but while stored in my cool dry pantry unopened, it darkened and looked more like red miso. See the pic of the unopened package of darkened miso. The flavor was still mild like white miso tho. I was worried that my sauce for my Garlicky Miso Shrimp Scampi would get too dark but happily it was the same light golden color that white miso imparts. See pic of recipe.Great taste and mixed well to make a great sauce. Really pleased with how this worked. Not pleased with the color change but the quality is still great.

I use this in making an Asian inspired condiment. It adds a nice umami flavor.

I'm happy with the product overall --- taste and price are fine.My only complaint is that the packaging isn't resealable; I had to transfer the unused portion of the paste to a different container for storage.

I have not use it yet. I learned to keep it in a dark area. The white miso turned dark.

I’m not sure if it was the fact it wasn’t packaged correctly or if they just sent me a spoiled item, but the fact is is that it was both. It looks like the picture when it comes it’s brown like poop. It’s supposed to be white miso.I’m afraid to eat it because it is surely they give somebody food poisoning. and Not only that, but you can’t replace the item and you can’t return it. And they do that so they can steal your money and there’s no way you can get it back. So please do not buy this miso. The other one that I got that is actually really good and then I’m very happy with and I actually bought it twice is the (Hikari 🌸 miso, organic miso, saikyo sweet miso.) so don’t waste your time with this one by the one that I had in parentheses it comes in a square container. And it’s very good. I got it a couple times now and I’ve been happy both times in fact I’ve beaten the whole thing by myself lol.So forget this one I want them to be reported so I’m gonna try to do so. I can’t believe that they sent in completely for product like that. They’re gonna get sued and they’re gonna get someone really sick one day.Thank you for reading my review and I really hope that it helps someone ❤️

This miso paste value for money! Very easy to use, you have add Dashi powder, this paste, wakame seaweed and tofu and your plain miso soup is ready in 15 minutes! I love taste of miso with this paste

Flavorful, easy to prepare

When I received it, it was very dark and didn’t look anything like the picture given. However, it tastes good, has a nice depth of flavor that I enjoyed very much. Once you open the package though you have to put it in another container. By now all packaging should come with zip lock. But as far as flavor goes I really liked it. I use it with either vegetable broth or chicken broth. Great product that I would purchase again.
