Competitively priced, acceptable sound (not too loud as some reviews mentioned, but my unit is 4500 sq foot size model for large home and basement applications, and it’s in our basement) Works SUPER EFFICIENTLY, we empty it 2 times every day and our basement is at a walkout level meaning 1 of 4 cement walls is not underground. With all the rain we’ve had in MI this year it was reported that we had 5” of rain during the month of June alone which is much higher than MI normal June rainfall calculations. However, on Saturday July 24 there was a torrential rain storm with 4 tornadoes to surrounding towns between 10 and 40 miles surrounding my town and in the 25 years I’ve lived in my home which has heavily wooded and hilly topography in our subdivision where the home lots average 1/2 acre, we had so much rain it was unbelievable. It was reported to be 4” of rain in just under 45 minutes of time. My back lot which is hilly and wooded had a 3 foot-wide swale of water rushing across my property, even going uphill at times to finally be redirected and emptied into a huge culvert running under the side street on my property’s western border. I have a corner lot and that rushing water was truly shocking to observe! My dehumidifier has been operating just AWESOME keeping up with all our surrounding soggy yard from on top of our grass, but also underground as well. Our soil also contains a lot of clay, making run-off and soil reabsorption even more of a challenge this year. My unit arrived within the estimated delivery expectations and even though the box had an area on one corner where the box was smashed in a bit, the dehumidifier was extremely well packaged so thankfully there was no damage to our unit. My husband assembled the parts and wheels with ease and he reported that it was easy to set up for your individual personalized setting choices as well. This dehumidifier comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty, but if you register your unit online at hOmeLabs.com website you qualify for an additional 6 months of Warranty coverage through the hOmeLabs manufacturer. Additionally, you have 30 days after purchase to decide if you would like to purchase any additional third-party warranty coverage as well. What has me on the fence regarding buying additional product coverage is two-fold. First, one of the third-party insurers starts their 2-years Warranty beginning on the date of the product purchase, so hence; their coverage runs concurrently with the manufacturer warranty which in my opinion is stupid AND in the other third-party insurer coverage it is not “clearly stated,” nor can anyone answer my question about who pays the “return shipping” fees if this product has to be sent out for repairs and if I’m recalling correctly I seem to remember that this dehumidifier weighs about 30 to 40 pounds. So if it’s the homeowner who has to pay return shipping fees to get it to someplace to be repaired those return costs will be exorbitant, so probably not worth buying additional extended warranty coverage. But it’s available to buy if the customer chooses too. Overall I’m extremely impressed and pleased at the functioning of this dehumidifier, I’m just hoping it’s going to keep operating this efficiently for several years. We take care of our products so if you do the required maintenance and keep the filters washed and cleaned as directed it should last for many seasons. In Michigan I only have to run it during the months when my furnace isn’t in use since the months that my furnace runs totally keeps any potential dampness from Spring rains or Winter snowfall dampness from developing in my basement. I do highly recommend this product as we’ve had it in use around 3 weeks to date and not a speck of wetness, or any damp smells or musty odors at all can be identified at all…. And I have a nose like a hawk when it comes to noticing anything like that in my lower level PERIOD. So far, so good! Great purchase all around!!! It’s built for large 4500 sq foot areas but obviously it also is working totally and equally efficient inside my basement cedar closet too, so perfect for small spaces in my very large sq foot overall basement space!!!

I found this dehumidifier works well. The noise level is fine. I have it in the basement, so it is not really a factor, but I am not sure I would have it in my bedroom and on when I wanted to sleep. It appears to drain well and I use a hose to drain directly to a drain pipe in the basement so I never have to worry about the container filling up. A perfectly good product and works as required.

I got this dehumidifier because we live in SW Florida and have recently had a problem with mold in our house. It's for 4500 square ft and would likely work fine for our 2 story house. We have to empty the tank twice/day so I am buying a second one to put upstairs. It is quiet, works efficiently and I am pleased with the cost. My aim is to keep the humidity below 50% and we are not quite there with the 1 dehumidifier. Update 8/12. We have 2 of these going now, one upstairs & one downstairs. It's a large 4 bedroom house. We had developed a problem with mold, living in SW Florida, even though we keep our AC set on 72 during the day and 68 at night-even though we have new AC units upstairs & downstairs, which should be able to maintain a humidity below 50%, which mold experts advise to discourage mold growth. Both of these dehumidifiers are set on continuous and they are running 24/7. We have found that they each have to be emptied TWICE daily. I'm guessing the tank holds between 1-2 gallons, have not measured it. It really does not matter. If the tank fills up, the unit turns itself off and the button that says FULL lights up. So it is foolproof, you just have to pay attention. And now having used them in this way, I find that my humidity meter is staying below 50%. I'm taking the time to write this not only because it's a good product and it deserves my positive comments. I am writing this because occult mold is a serious health threat. I'm a retired ICU nurse and feel a bit stupid that my own health was deteriorating; I was treated for chronic sinusitis & "allergies" for decades by board certified physicians. None of them had a clue, they just kept writing prescriptions. I lost hours of sleep each night because I or nasal stuffiness; I woke up most mornings with a headache. Some out there may identify with this. I had to pay out of pocket to see an integrative medicine MD, who looked at one lab result: my CRP, and asked point blank "Why is your CRP so high? Do you have a problem with mold in your house?" Well, duh, yes we did. He ordered a mycotoxin test from Great Plains Lab which showed I was shedding 2 mycotoxins in my urine which are both carcinogens and 1 is nephrotoxic. TMI? Sorry, this may save some else's life so I need to share it. I have now read 2 books on mold. We are undergoing mold remediation (not inexpensive) and part of that is keeping the humidity down. So if you even remotely think any of this is familiar to your own state of health, start checking the humidity in your house. If it's over 50% try one of these dehumidifiers. Instead of just buying one prescription antihistamine or nose spray or antibiotic after another to alleviate your head congestion and nasal symptoms-find an MD who will look below the surface and order the appropriate testing. Your very life could depend on it; and you will find your symptoms hugely improved if mold in your house is in any way involved involved. There are products available (BioBalance or Benefect) to begin eliminating any existing mold to restore you and your home to health. And this dehumidifier is part of the solution going forward!!!

Works great for our basement. Keeps it nice and dry. Bought the hose that was advertised with the unit and that was a waste of money. The hose did not fit and we needed to get parts to make it fit. The hose was for a high pressure washer. Should have bought the display gadget that was advertised for about $20.00. All in all great machine and does what was promised.
