The retraction mechanism is perfect. The locking mechanism is tight and works without any flaws. You could drop this tape from two stories above, and I doubt that the case would crack. I highly recommend this 30 foot tape measure for anyone that wants good quality that will last them for a good long, long time. Oh, and the red numbering system makes it a breeze to see just a glance; the readability of this tape measure is unbeatable. It’s the best one I’ve ever had!

This is a really good product, robust enough for general site use. Yes it is only Imperial - but it was meant for the US market and happily I'm old enough to use whatever system I want.
