we are one, body and mind, and we can self heal, if we want to
A foray into the multidimensional world of self healing led by renowned and trusted guide Deepak. There is a thread of scientifically located fact within this book that starts to lead us into the meeting of the two worlds of spiritual healing (for want of a better word, can’t remember how Deepak describes it, into the empirical evidence of science. I have reaped some personal benefit from this book, giving support to my intuitive speculation, particularly directing me to the work on the wandering vagus nerve and its role in chronic inflammation and specifically rheumatoid arthritis, which I will definitely following up on. For me this heralds the start of the (internal) revolution. As more and more people start to reap the benefits of meditation, yoga and self healing practices, the science of happy etc, the more we will heal our fractured selves, society and global discontent. This is neither a silent nor a velvet revolution, this is the smiling revolution!

A ‘must-read’ for healthy living
I find this book both spiritual and grounded in the authors love of medicine, science and fact. I’m not a lover of overly ethereal reads, so Deepak's common sense appeals to me.

Bodymind as one
The main aim is on how to avoid inflammation occurring anywhere in the body, mostly by changing one's life style to adopt one change per day from a 'do's' & ' 'don't's ' list over 7 days on a regular basis. The book offers examples of current research findings and advocates a balanced natural whole bodymind approach.

I usually enjoy all Deepak Chopra products (books
I usually enjoy all Deepak Chopra products (books, meditation guides, etc.) but this one is not to his usual standard in my opinion. I think the book is more aimed for the American market as the impression is of a book trying to educate a population which is used to convenience food, to eat better. There's nothing new in this book that Deepak has not expressed better in many of his earlier, solo, books.

Foggy aim
It has its moments, but all-in-all misses the whole. Having purpose is very important and the 'integral part of a team' mentality. But the idea of 'love' that is being presented here appears to be aimed at the expression between two people or within family unit, and how that effectively will boost our immunity. This is an isolated viewpoint and not completely true. I believe that the concept of 'love' of life has more to do with the bond and purpose of being an integral part of a bigger machine, thus a much grander scale. An example from the book suggests that people who feel 'loved' as being better survivors of medical procedures and have hiked immune response....ok then the question I would pose is: if these survivors felt 'loved' and had this hiked immune response from 'love', then why the heck are they undergoing those medical procedures that should have been avoided with a proper immune response and a little 'love' to begin with?? Just doesn't add up... for me.
