Worth it for Tuplelo Alone
What do you expect? Yet another great John Lee Hooker album, but this one tends to be overlooked.The master of Boogie Woogie turns in one of the darkest blues tunes ever in "Tupelo": Just JLH and his acoustic gutar. As a matter of fact, Tupelo isn't even The Blues, it's The Blacks. As quiet and dark as death itself.The rest of the album is fantastic as well especially Deep Blue Sea where "Johnny" gives the impression he has a direct connection to everybody from pilots to the guys in the control tower, talking about getting out of a stormy place to get home to see his baby when the jets won't be flying "for three or four days."Classic.

John Lee Hooker has gone with the flow and ebbed with the tides of time... He is a classic playing modern day blues.

An okay CD
This is a good CD to have in your collection, but there are a ton of other John Lee Hooker CD's that I'd get first, like Country Blues, and Burnin' Hell.
