Good Stuff
I bought these for an electronic door lock. The lock had issues and was draining batteries way too quickly. The software issue was never resolved and I just removed them.We now use them throughout the house for other devices and they work great. I have both AA and AAA now.

Ready to Go
Batteries and charger arrived, with batteries still almost fully charged. Placed batteries in charger, within less than 30 minutes they were at 100%

Powerful
Initially i was disappointed because it seemed like they only lasted a short period of time. But after a few charge/discharge cycles seemed like they got better. I use 3 of these at a time in my milwaukee headlamp as a mechanic. I keep swapping them out all day long. They get hot for sure once theyve been on for a while and need to cool off before putting them on the charger again. I did have one dead one that wouldnt charge out of the box.

good battery for electronics and other voltage sensitive equipment
I got the 12-pack AAA + charger about a year ago for $48. Seems a bit expensive compared to the current price of the same item, and there seems to be plenty of other companies offering these AAA 1.5 volt lithium batteries for much cheaper now. Some have much higher power capacity than these and also manage to undercut the price. A year ago there were only two brands offering this type of AAA battery and the price was fairly similar and I went with the Hixon brand, but if I were to buy additional AAA 1.5v lithium batteries today, I may go for a different option. I’d like to see Hixon stay competitive and offer a higher capacity battery in response to the new offerings on the market. Or at least price it more competitively. It is cheaper compared to when I purchased it when there was little else available, but now it is a higher priced option for less performance.I use them for computer peripherals. I used to use various NiMH batteries that were rated at 750 to 900 mAh but they’ve been in use many years and some have dropped to 500 mAh or below. These lithium AAA batteries last much longer between swapping out the batteries and the constant 1.5 volts means you get more use per charge. A NiMH would gradually decrease voltage and many electronics would stop working after a certain point due to insufficient voltage, even if there’s still plenty of charge left in the battery.I haven’t had to recharge them too many times and that combined with having a few spares out of the 12 means I haven’t been able to see any use close to the claimed 1600 cycles and how much the power capacity degrades over time. But they seem to be holding their power very well and show no signs of failing. The only downside is it requires a special charger that supplies 5 volts to the batteries. I typically charge any rechargeable barrel type battery with a multi purpose charger but these are incompatible since the charge current doesn’t correspond to any standard rechargeable battery types. This device also has a battery capacity test feature but I couldn’t get it to work most likely since the 1.5 volt output from the Hixon AAA is beyond the expected range of a typical battery of this type and it tries to switch to a higher voltage range.

Thermal runaway
After 7 months of use in a Duracell LED flashlight (4 X AAA), one of the batteries had a thermal runaway. As shown in the picture, the positive terminal of the flashlight base melted. The battery in line with the one shown remained hot for over 30 minutes. Unsafe. Ruined flashlight. Before the melt down, from fully charged to light out, illumination time was significantly less than with standard alkaline batteries.

Disappointing battery life
I have recently switched from Nickel cadmium Eneloop 1.2v AA and AAA batteries to the 1.5v Lithium Hixson batteries for my electronic devices mostly for the higher voltage and supposedly stable output. To my great disappointment, 1 out of every four batteries proved to have a very short service life before needing recharge, and some went on to fail to charge altogether. One became so hot in the Hixon Charger that it began to swell and gave off a burn smell before being removed. I bought some Kratax batteries to replace the Hixons, but they seem to be performing about as badly as the Hixons. I think I will rely on the NiCad batteries a while longer until there are more reliable lithium replacements available.
