Works well with old school roller window shades
I had an old roller window shade probably from the 1980's that was in great shape, it was taken down 20 years ago and the mounting hardware got lost. This hardware fit the old window roller shade perfectly and it's back up in the window again!

Dangerous Design!
Yes, the design of these brackets is dangerous. The slotted bracket is meant to keep the spring tension in the roller shade, but the opening is too wide and has too shallow an angle. If you accidentally loose grip of the shade when retracting it, the shade pops out of this slot and can injure you. There are other brackets with a tighter fit and that are angled straight up and down and yet another brand that angles backwards.
