Sunrise & Sunset Timer for Bird Lights

I connected this timer to two LED lights from M&M. Once setup (a simple process) both lights gradually turn on and off at the desired times. Our bird now has the light it needs, and her biological clock stays constant. Power failures won't affect timer (no reprograming is necessary). It's not inexpensive, but it works great. Recommended.

This timer has been a lifesaver in our inconsistent household! It was relatively easy to set, works fine with the inline dimmer the company recommended when I asked, and keeps my parakeets on a reasonable schedule even when I forget I haven’t uncovered them and run errands after dropping my kiddo at school in the winter dark. The cage light from the same company is also great. Would highly recommend!

This light is wonderful… the only issue I have with it is That the clock on the thermostat looses time after awhile… I want it to go off at 9:00 PM, but it actually goes off at 8:30 PM, and it’s clock says 9:00. Right now, it goes off at 8:15, it’s actually 45 minutes fast!! ( It you can fix that… please do. Send me a new clock part once you updated it!! 😃) It is a perfect size for my large rolling cage, it floods the whole cage… works well, the light is well guarded away from little or big bird beaks. Nice looking too. It is attached to the flat top with bolts and wing nuts… But, beware… the bolts do stick up above the bars of the top of the cage, and my cage has a solid play tray or feeding tray that slides in and covers whole top of cage. Because of the bolts, the tray wouldn’t go in and be stable. So I had to Cut 2 pieces of trim that was a smidgen higher than the bolts, slid them on top of the cage, then the tray slid on top of the trim… perfect now!! Three pictures, first shows bolts sticking up with two pieces of trim on far sides, second picture shows, the size of trim 0.5” high by 1.0” wide. Third picture shows tray slid almost all the way in, on top of trim, showing the back bolts, and how tray slides on trim covering the bolts. The bolts for the light are very secure, and my tray on top of the trim is secure, so I’m ok with that… however, if they could come up with another method of securing it for cages like mine, that would be a giant plus… but I’m not knocking a nice product!!

I like that it gradually gets brighter/dims as it turns on and off with the timer, I just wish you could customize the light level and duration of the brightening/dimming.

I'm very satisfied with this purchase! Affordable and seamlessly capable of sitting into my lighting scheme, this timer is easy to hook up (if you know the basics, that's enough) and setting the timer is no more difficult than setting any sort of alarm or timer. There are very clear instructions that are simple to follow and the whole setup process took less than 5 minutes. The timing is extremely accurate, and the timer does exactly what it is programmed to do without any additional noise or annoyance to the birds. Although the lights look like they flicker in my video, they do not. The timer will gradually brighten the lights but taking the video on my phone gives it a slightly flickering appearance that doesn't happen irl. My only desire would be for the initial brightness to be even dimmer than it is. This isn't enough of a problem to remove a star, though I do wish it was an even more gradual move into light rather than how it is currently set, but there i no way to change this. On that note, consumers should be aware that this timer is fully automated and you really only have control of the timers, not the dim/brightness. This isn't a problem for my birds, so it isn't a problem with me but it would have been nice if the transition started at a dimmer setting. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with this timer! No regrets on this buy and now I don't have to worry about hitting my finches with the full glory of their lights first thing in the morning.

I am super happy I got this in addition to the light fixture it goes with. Having the auto light feature is a lifesaver for me and my bird! Love this so much. Great quality and easy to use!

This item requires a power supply. When I ordered there was no reference to the fact that a power supply was not included only that it only worked with low voltage dc lighting. Also the power input and output cords are very short(less than 4 inches each) so for practical reasons you need a power cord extension for a light. I didn’t know what kind of star rating to give as I haven’t had a chance to use this as I am waiting on a power supply and cord extension.

Its great and the sunrise/sunset is so helpful but you need to reset the timer about once a month because it runs a bit too fast and will start turning on too early

I bought this timer to go along with the HappyBird Full Spectrum Light that I bought, it’s a considered purchase when buying both the light and timer but well worth the expense. Although the timer is really quite small, smaller than I expected to be honest, it works seamlessly with the light or lights if you have more than one, I believe you can run 2 lights from one timer. It’s fairly easy to install and set up and there are instruction enclosed for those who are unsure plus an online video if required. The timer fades the light in over a 20 minute period and the same before switching off so you don’t frighten your birds. I’m really happy with this timer and would recommend it with the corresponding Happy Bird Lights.

I love this thing. It just arrived today. I don’t know why I didn’t buy it right away when I ordered my M&M light originally! So worth it. For me personally I don’t use the timer. I only use the light at 50% brightness whenever I have it on daily… My bird really doesn’t like 100% brightness that’s just her personal preference.
