Atari Berzerk 2600+

Arcade classic that holds up well!! This game is a must have for anyone wanting to experience original Atari 2600 games. It’s easy to pick and play for five minutes or an extended play session. I do recommend playing with the CX78+ wireless gamepad. It’s far more comfortable and easier to use than the Atari 2600 joystick.

Berserk is one of those classic games that holds up. I have the original version and this version ups the difficulty and the sounds! A definite worthy purchase. FYI, this copy DOES NOT work with the Colecovision Expansion Module 1. Not sure if it works with the Gemini, but from my understanding is that the Gemini is an expansion module 1 with video out. Purchase if you plan on playing on the 2600+ or 2600

It took me back to those carefree days when all we had to do was just find a quarter and go to the nearest arcade and play the original game.

...Yes a good deal indeedy ,of course diagonal shooting is now incorporated ,and most importantly speech. If you love the original ,and don't have roms ,then this game is a must , especially as you're generally looking at $50 per game off Atari age. Again ... No manual ,which is annoying , especially as there's a slot for one in the box. Non the less $29.99 is a good deal. Of course it's better on the 5200 !!!. And be sure to ask for your free pepperoni roll with every purchase. (There is no free pepperoni roll).

I bought this game; not necessarily for the Atari 2600+, but I’m actually one of those weird people who have an Atari Flashback II—modified with the cartridge slot. The system itself is limited in regard to the support of certain games (won’t read games past the 16k with Sound Chip threshold). I even remember AtariAge’s iteration wouldn’t even implement the arcade original’s usage of voice. This iteration by Atari (Infogrames) actually works—even with the voice! If it works on my Flashback II, then every Atari system will play this game no problem! HIGHLY recommended! My only remark is that this game doesn’t have a manual like in past iterations from the early ‘80’s. Its not really a big deal, since you can get an original manual for this game on EBay or any other mercantile front. Regardless, it’s Berzerk. It’s simple to pick up, and play. Came out in Arcades, The Vectrex, and most famously: the Atari! Go for it—it has a dust sleeve akin to what Nintendo did for their titles on the NES; only with cover artwork that overlaps the label—very creative! I hope Atari continues this friendliness for hardware compatibility (it would be nice if the box stated Flashback II compatibility—like a kilobyte counter for support, like what Nintendo did with their Game Boy Advance titles in the 2000’s; but it is what it is).

The game is great but the box arrived damaged. This doesn't matter much to me but might to a collector.

This is a nice upgrade to the original release for Atari 2600. I like the robot voices and diagonally shooting robots. While this works on my old 2600, it did not work on my Retron 77 with firmware updated/upgraded with the Stella emulator (blank screen with a buzzing sound).

I bought this game for my Atari 2600+ and am very happy with the purchase. Great game that brings back. Lots of memories. Updated sounds on the game as well which were nice.

Although my 2600+ is still somewhere in shipping, my Berzerk Enhanced arrived today. I plugged it into my old 2600 Jr. and played it for about 25 minutes. Berzerk is one of my favorite 2600 games, and it plays great on my Junior. The speech definitely adds to the game, and the occasional diagonal shot from the robots adds extra challenge. A few minor caveats: - When you're playing $30 US plus shipping for a game, it really ought to come with some printed instructions. I get that a color booklet might be an expense, but maybe include a single sheet of paper explaining what the difficulty switches and level settings do. I guess I'll need to google up the original instruction manual so I remember how to turn on Evil Otto, etc. - The sleeve is a nice extra. However, instead of an Atari fuji, I suggest that the back of the sleeve would have been a great place for a table showing the different settings. - What exactly is the game saying? "Humanoid must not escape" is obvious, but some of the other phrases are really hard to understand...

I love that game, the sound is amazing and I feel like I could play forever. Even the flaws makes it better. For example the character does not move super fast and that makes the game more relax and more stressful when that face thing is chasing you. Don't forget to use a scalpel to cut the plastic at the top of the box and use a butter knife to open the box. We know better now than to throw away those boxes.

Love the update. This game is one of the very best for the 2600. Stark, mean and addicting.

Great game, arrived well enough though having a manual included would have gone along way honestly.
