Hesh Mahabhringraj Maka Herbal Hair Oil 200ml *New*

I've had a problem with my scalp for what seems like all of eternity. I have tried tons and tons of different products and home remedies that range from helping with dry scalp to dermatitis and... nothing has ever worked-- until this! A friend of mine, who is black, recommended this to me which I was at first hesitant to order because we have incredibly different hair types (duh, that didn't really need to be said!) But, obviously this is something that she would use in her hair to keep it moisturized whereas I put it in my hair and it looks like I haven't showered in 6 weeks (I'm guessing here, I don't really know what my hair would look like after 6 weeks of not showering, I swear!). But anyway, for the price it seemed like it was worth a shot and would you believe it? I left the product in my hair for about an hour the first time I used it (the smell was a bit on the strong side, it's nice, but strong and took a little getting used to) and after I washed it out, my scalp felt clean and clear and healthy for the first time in ages. However, it is not a cure! I continue to use this product, about 2-4 times a month. Once a week or every other week when I have a day to kill and sit around with a bunch of oil in my hair. I made the mistake of using a cap to sleep in over night and when I woke up the next day my boyfriend made some comment about waking up next to Bea Arthur. And not that that made me stop, but I have crazy sensitive skin that just loves to suck this oil up and create deep, disgusting pimples (it's not an allergic reaction, my skin really is as annoying as it sounds). I've found that it's better to use this while I'm awake-- I can wash the area around my hairline as frequently as I feel is needed and I don't have to listen to any old-lady jokes from the boyfriend.The product does say on the package that with continued use your hair can darken. I guess I don't use it frequently enough, I've had the product since June 2012 and here it is February 2013 and there's no difference in my hair color (I have light brown/dishwater blonde hair, not color treated). I have no experience with how this product works on lighter colors, red hair, or dyed hair. But if you have scalp issues as I do, I would definitely recommend using this product. Even though I thought the smell was quite strong originally, I really love it now and often look forward to putting this in my hair (the smell will linger in your hair for a couple of shampoos).I would also say that even though I bought this product to help with dandruff, it has also helped with repairing my hair from pony-tail-breakage and keeps the ends of my hair from getting too dry/damage/split. I already have thick hair so I haven't noticed a difference in that area but, I do think my hair looks healthier since I started using this oil!

I have medium length, fine, curly, medium brown hair. It had become very dry, limp and frizzy with a lot of split ends. I was looking for something that would make it healthy and long. I knew i wanted something natural so after doing some research I found Mahabhringraj oil. I use it as both an overnight oil treatment and as a daily hair product. For the overnight treatment i rub fairly a lot on my scalp and all over my hair. i then braid it, pin it up and wear a satin night cap. You definitely have to wash your hair the next morning if you plan on looking presentable because it will make your hair extremely oily. I also do not like the smell..a very strong herbal scent. For a regular hair product i use it after i wash my hair. i put a small dime size amount on wet hair. I'll avoid the roots and just put it on the rest of my hair because i do not like how oily it makes my roots look. However, if you have dry hair it won't make the rest oily if you use a small amount. I read that this product can also darken hair. As i said before i have medium brown hair. I have not noticed a change but i also would not mind if it darkened sightly. So did i get the healthy and long hair i wanted? Its been a month of using this product and my hair has become so shiny and soft. Its rarely frizzy or limp anymore. My hair seems longer than it was a month ago and my split ends did not seem to increase. Overall, i would recommend this product.

After using this product for awhile, I was not happy, When applying it was oily and it made my scalp itch. After i stopped using my scalp returned back to normal. It really did not do anything for my hair. Maybe it will work better for another person but not me I will not repurchase this item again

Before using this product my hair was shedding/falling out in large clumps, after two weeks of using Maka Herbal hair oil, my hair is not only soft, but the shedding/and falling out has definitely slowed to almost no lost at all, Not sure if there is any growth at this point, but I am definitely happy that I'm not losing any more strands. I will continue to use this product with hopes that perhaps I will have some growth.

It is not organic...there is mineral oil which makes my hair sticky and stiff after a couple days use. I have fairly coarse black hair so it is not something I would recommend for daily use...

I like this product a lot. I have started on my hair and Hesh products are the best in Avyuvedic product line.
