When I was recently at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America), I loved the street crossing signs featuring a figure wearing a chef's toque in honor of the students and teachers there. It reminded me of a "Panther Crossing" sign I had seen once in the Everglades and gave me the idea for other possibilities. What could be more inspiring for a young athlete than a soccer player? To create the soccer crossing sign ornament, I adapted and printed it on heavy luster paper with archival inks, bonded it to hardwood, then cut it out by hand with my Excalibur scrolling saw. The ornament measures approximately 3&1/2" x 3&1/2" and is enameled gold on the back and sides. Thissoccer player is a perfect gift for a daughter, grandchild, coac, or team members.
