Great piece of kit fitted it to an outside kennel so was a bit harder to fit than a door but does a great job

This is a great dog door, it's relatively quiet when used, it is of good solid build and has an inbuilt draught excluder as well as a magnet to hold the door closed on windy nights! Its very straight forward to fit! It took me an hour and a half to, remove the double glazed panel, cut new pvc panel to size, fit the dog flap to the panel and then fit the pvc panel with dog flap into the door! Best of all my dog loves it! If you are considering fitting one of these then go for it! It'll make your dog very happy to be able to be able to pop in and out whenever it pleases! I got the medium which will do anything from a jack russel up to a springer spanial!

Generally well made and (time will tell - but) seemingly quite strong. The fitting of this product would definitely be easier and much less time consuming if the reveals (the plastic parts that are cut to width to fit across from the inner to outer part to cover the edges of newly cut door panel) were either a fraction thicker or the slots they push into were a little narrower so that the reveal actually has to be push fitted into them (and wouldn't fall out of the side they were already in quite so readily, while trying to position the 2nd side - especially when being fitted by one person). That would make a tremendous difference to the hassle factor and time taken! Of course, they can be glued in place on the first side, but the lost time whilst the glue gets really set and hard means there's a lot of time loss whether gluing or trying hard to keep them in place with one hand while manoeuvring or screwing with the other. A nightmare so easily averted - it seems ridiculous that it hasn't been done. For those who can't work it our for themselves - it could be a good idea to say in the fitting details that when fitting where the security is less important (and the ply/wood is thick enough to allow it) it is much easier to simply screw this product in place than to mess about cutting to length and trying to line up the screw headed bolts supplied. In fact, if clutched (security) screws are used they are very nearly as secure anyway.

This is our second one of these , the first one is still going strong but we wanted one for another door. We have an absolutely non stop spaniel X collie that comes through this flap at 90mph about 100 times a day ! It really has stood up to the challenge amazingly well . Occasionally when she has driven us completely mad coming in and out we close it and we have had no problems with her breaking out either ! My husband installed it and there wasn't much swearing so I assume it was pretty straightforward. Worth every penny.

very good in allways function and value

I've had this for a few years now and really love having this fitted for my 2 dogs. It's nice to know when I leave them alone they can get in and out of their own accord. It was easy enough to fit, but you MUST have a drill and a Jigsaw. Without it you cannot fit it. Also, it's quite scary cutting such a large whole in your door. But relatively easy fit, should take less than hour. Getting the dogs to use it was simple, one took to it straight away, the other took a few more goes but now it is just second nature to them and they both can run through it at times. I got the large size and my biggest, a Lurcher, fits through no problem. To be honest I think, If I really went for it, I could fit through it (5ft 11inch, medium build) so it's a decent great big whole in your door. Comes with an internal bit of plastic to close the door off if needed (used a few times) and it will stop the dogs from being able to use it. But don't think for a moment it would stop a human, a hard kick and it come flying off. But if you're thinking of this then clearly you're not worried about security right? Because, as I've said, you're putting a large human sized non securable hole in an external door to your house. It's as simple as that. (I'm happy as my garden is enclosed by a large wall that, if anyone was to come over, clearly they intend to get in no matter what so even without this they wouldn't struggle - plus what idiot, scaling a wall, see's this, a LARGE DOG DOOR and decides it's a good idea to continue breaking in?!) 3 stars then, for something I really like and have benefitted massively from having. Well, I have had to fix this a few times. I came home within the first half year to find the bottom 2/3 of the door in 2 pieces on the floor. How my dogs managed to break I do not know, but possibly running through it, both trying to get through at the same time or something else I cannot think of. I used superglue and duct tape to reassemble and this worked, needed only occasional maintenance (a bit more superglue) and lasted over a year. But then I came home again and found it broken. I have now fixed this again using strong cardboard on both sides, covered in tape and so far it's holding stronger than ever. But id does look like pretty hideous (despite using a nice box with a pretty picture on). And the dog's can no longer use the window bit (which they like to use, especially when raining) so that's a feature lost. So 3 star's it is, all because the quality and strength of the door could and should be better. This thing is built for large dogs and should be designed exactly for that. But it is not. The door will even blow open in windy condition, highlighting just how weightless and weak the plastic is.

Easy installation and very effective way of letting your dog have control over access

This door is sturdy, suitable for our mixed shepherd and our super-speedy terrier mix (nick name "tornado"). Quieter than previous one, fitted in short time as no additional cutting required, and keeps the draft out. Had it now one month and still very happy! Previous door gave up when "tornado" arrived and squeezed through next to the big shepherd.

Una de las veces tuve una mala experiencia con este pedido pero esta vez ha sido muy buena la entrega. Gracias. El único pero es que la resina (marco de la puerta) si está expuesta al sol al cabo de unos años hay que sustituirla. Es lo que me ha sucedido a mi, pero es muy buen producto.

I had my handyman install this dog door in the screen door of my enclosed porch. He had installed dog doors before. It fit the thin metal of the screen door well (as opposed to a much thicker wood door). It only took him about an hour to install. My dog started using it pretty immediately, motivated by his favorite treat. I have not had occasion to use the lock yet, but it seems pretty simple. The color (brown) matches the color of my door surprisingly well. The dog door fits my 30 lb. medium sized dog well.
