Julius Zebra Bundle With The Britons

Perfect for a child who struggles to meet his school's weekly reading log
My son loved the Rumble with Romans book so much that he asked me to buy this one too. The story was so entertaining that he didn't want to put it down. He laughed and giggled as he read the story. I'm thrilled that he met and surpased his school's weekly reading requirements for this week.

I would highly recommend for kids 7-10
My 7 year old son and I read the Julius Zebra books together. He loves them and loves using them to learn about ancient times. He wants to be Julius for Halloween. I would highly recommend for kids 7-10. We can't wait for another installment in the Julius Zebra series.

One of the funniest, cleverly executed books that I have read for a long time
Gladiator superstar, Julius Zebra, was the most famous and fearsome warrior in Rome, after defeating numerous opponents. His battles hadn’t gone unnoticed by Emperor Hadrian, who offered him a deal, battle and win one more fight, and he would grant Julius his freedom. However, after winning the battle, Hadrian was nowhere to be seen.News soon arrived that Hadrian was impressed with Julius, and as a result, he was sending him, and his friends, on a little trip to Britannia.Unfortunately, their idea of a little ‘holibob’ was cut short when they realised exactly what Emperor Hadrian had in store for them.Julius Zebra Bundle with the Britains!, is the second book in the ‘Julius Zebra’ series, but can most certainly be read as a stand alone.Gary Northfield has managed to write a children’s book that blends history with a damn good story. The characters are well developed, and at times you do forget that they are actually a Zebra, Warthog, Crocodile, Antelope, lion, etc.The book is funny, laugh out loud funny, from beginning to end. It is silly, wacky and a little bit daft, but it is also engrossing, and will have children hooked right from the start. It certainly is attention grabbing. There are numerous black and white illustrations throughout, some are full pages too, these add to the enjoyment of the story, and help to visualise exactly what is happening. One of the funniest, cleverly executed books that I have read for a long time, (and I’m just a few years over the target market!!).Reviewed on Whispering Stories Book Blog*I received a free copy of this book, which I voluntarily reviewed

Perfect for elementary/middle school kids
My Son is loving this series. Can't get enough of Julius Zebra. WE enjoyed so much the first book and I'm always skeptical of following ones. but this one kept the same quality, and good humor and great story. - Looking forward to see Julius in Egypt now!

who loved the first "Roman" book
I bought this book for my 9-year old son, who loved the first "Roman" book. He was very excited about delving into this seemingly absurd, yet very humorous and imaginative story-telling, and fully satisfied with the outcome. He can't wait for the next installment!

Hilarious
Bought this book for my son, who devoured it in two sittings, he read it independently because he couldn't wait to read with us. His review is as follows..."It is part of a series about a zebra who turns into a Roman gladiator! It is a story book and is fun to read yourself. The drawings are very well done. This book is about Juius going to Britania. It was quite funny, but mostly... Hilarious!"So that's the opinion of a seven/eight year old. He's already anticipating the next instalment. The books are great fun and have a stack of historical facts at the back so throw a little history lesson into the mix.

great bedtime fun!
Fun mix of historical facts and silly nonsense which is entertaining for kids and adults. My son is 6 years old and loves the whole lot, we're reading the latest (Grapple with the Greeks) and it's also great fun.

These are fantastic books for children I would range from 7 years onwards. Funny with some great history thrown in. Went down well with the birthday boy. They do more in the range too.
