Kirkland Signature Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, 72 oz

I have not yet opened the pkg. I am assuming the contents are excellent because I have been using this brand for several years. I used to be able to purchase it at my local Costco! But, now the pkg in my local Costco has chocolate chips with milk in them!. I need to have the chocolate chips with NO Lactose!One of my neighbors ( and also a fellow church member) is Lactose intolerant. I keep that in mind when I am baking something for the church coffee hour. BTW, I would already have opened and used from this most recent bag of chips but, church is closed! Because of this Corona virus the public buildings (the library, the town hall, the senior center, etc.) are all closed! Praying for a positive outcome SOON! SIncerely, Jane E. Fry

Kirkland Dark Chocolate it’s a 4.5 lb bag. I was so excited to see that you could buy Costco Kirkland’s brand of Dark Chocolate on Amazon Website. Great price. I’m looking forward to making my Peppermint Bark, Turtles and Fudge with this Chocolate. The flavor of this chocolate is excellent, a thousand times better then nestles chips. It’s very high quality, nice rich semi sweet chocolate perfect for baking or mixing in trail mix, it’s strong on flavor so a little goes a long way. I made brownies with these and another batch with Nestle morsels and there was no comparison, the Kirkland won hands down. I love these chips and definitely recommend them!

THESE ARE NOT DAIRY-FREE!!!I ordered them having read the label in the photo as advertised, which does not have dairy listed. The package that I received was red (not white as pictured) and as I finally figured out, does have milkfat! I ate them and unknowingly gave my very dairy-sensitive breastfed baby distress. I had eaten half the bag before I realized that THESE were the cause of my child’s distress. I am not pleased. The seller needs to change the advertised product to the actual product and ingredients .

I was iffy because of some reviews, but I'd say definitely buy them. These are of great quality, they taste amazing in my baked goods, especially melted to make brownies. I did have some clumping, but it was around 10% so definitely workable and somewhat expected in warmer months. Hopefully they'll stay in production because the brand's newest version isn't vegan.

At first, I was very disappointed and hopeless that I would be able to bake chocolate chip cookies with this big blob of chocolate that hardened into one big piece once cooled down. HOWEVER, I cut the piece by hand into small bits of chocolate which also produced some chocolate powder. Then I made the cookie dough as usual and added about 1 1/2 cups of the cut up pieces and chocolate powder and worked it into the dough. Result: I am getting more recipe requests and compliments with this version of chocolate chip cookies. Just thought you should know.

Kirkland Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips have been my favorites for years. Then suddenly, they disappeared from the shelves at Costco. I tried to find out who the manufacturer actually was - to no avail. So I started a quest to find a replacement chip. I believe that over the course of 18 months, I tried virtually every chocolate chip on the market. None were as good as Kirkland. Surprisingly, I was notified by Amazon that they had 72 oz Kirkland chips available, so I ordered them. They're every bit as good as ever - perfect in brownies, chocolate chip cookies and as a snack.

My fiance is dairy-free (allergy). He now wants chocolate chip cookies ALL THE TIME. I can't imagine life without dairy (living in MN where everything is made with milk & cheese), so after I found these, I have a new "staple" in my kitchen. These chocolate chips are great - they aren't like the other dairy-free ones, those are crap. These taste just like Nestle.Note: Costco does sell these in their store (in MN), but they are only available during the Christmas season (per the workers), so I was advised to stock up!
