Best product I ever have
I am new to Home Assistant, and I found myself in possession of an unused laptop that only features a Type-C interface. After some research, I came across the Third Reality dongle, which was the only one I could find that supported the Type-C interface natively. Eager to enhance my Home Assistant setup, I decided to give it a try.During the installation process in Home Assistant, I had to choose the Zigate integration, and I decided to simply ignore the warning that appeared. To my pleasant surprise, the installation went incredibly smoothly, and I was up and running in no time. One aspect of the Third Reality dongle that has truly impressed me is its Zigbee range. I've tested it and found that I can get sensors to work flawlessly even at a distance of 100 feet. This extended range has significantly expanded the possibilities for sensor placement in my smart home setup, making it more versatile and effective.

NOT Home Assistant friendly
Good price but not functional in Home Assistant. Tried both ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT and neither work with the device. After not being able to use the device I then updated it with the latest firmware. That completed fine then tried in home assistant again but still did not work. The device did install using ZHA but did not work. Could not add any devices. Zigbee2MQTT would not start and gave an error saying the device timed out. Purchased a Sonoff zigbee adapter and worked right out of the box.

Overall Great Product.
I bought this item to pair with Home Assistant that I have running on a raspberry pi. The install was extremely straight forward and easy to go through the steps. I paired this radio with two of their zigbee smart buttons. I was able to get everything configured in about 15 minutes. One thing to note is the USB C to A adapter, I know from experience that those can go bad so I'm not sure on the quality of the adapter. It's also recommended that you use an extension cable so that the radio has less interference, I did add one of these to my setup.

Not compatible with latest ZigbeeToMQTT and Home Assistant
Worked pretty well for about 3 months. But updates to the Zigbee2MQTT platform have made this dongle unusable. It uses the unmaintained Zigate driver which is now deprecated. Suggest looking elsewhere if you are looking to integrate with home assistant or Z2M.

Works as advertised
This was plug and play and works as a ZigBee hub for my home assistant server.

Works like a charm
Works with HAI was surprised to see folks said it is not working with HA. Yes it get a warning about not recommened, but simply ignore it and continue the process, it actually works pefect with my HA setup. I really like the range of the product, compared with my SONOFF dongle, they are at same range. But SONONFF got a big antenna.

Not plug and play
Powered it up. Started app in iOS…never finds it. Apparently if you create a home assistant ‘server’ you’ll be ok. NOT plug and play. Alexa is plug and play. I just wanted multiple hubs to improve reception. I have another low cost hub that sets up through smart life. Plugs in and sets up. True plug and play. Will return as third reality won’t respond to this per other posters. We shall see

Works fine for docker-based home assistant...
I ordered this to play with home assistant on a spare computer. After setup of the basic home assistant detected many WiFi devices that it could control, I thought why not move my Zigbee devices. I plugged in the device and it was configured by the host OS, but I had to follow steps on the Wiki to allow it to show up in the Home Assistant docker instance. After that, it was smooth sailing. While there is a warning that this might be dropped in a future release, at least I saved money to run my home automations until I need to update everything. I can run this release until then if needed... unlike what the big IoT companies like Amazon and Google do when they decide to drop support for something.I am rating this four stars for now. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...
