Game changer
I love this smart curtain system! It's definitely a game-changer. I don't have to open or close the curtains myself anymore. It might sound like a small thing, but being able to control the curtains by voice, app, or timer is bloomin' great. Plus, it's got different modes like quick, slow, and quiet (though regular mode is a bit loud, so you gotta think of the neighbours!).You can also set it to open or close to the width you want, which is awesome. It's the little things that make such a difference.I bought the sun sensors for battery charging, but I still need to charge it once or twice a year with power. I'd suggest getting long USB-C charging cables that reach the curtains so you can charge them without taking the devices down. It can be a bit fiddly and give you an arm-ache.All in all, I'm super happy with it. Definitely one of my best purchases.Hope this helps! 😊

Fantastic must have for everyone!
I’ve been using these curtain motors in my bedroom for over a year now and they’ve worked flawlessly. The battery life is impressive, lasting easily over four to five months, and I’ve set up automations to open the curtains at sunrise, which works perfectly.I definitely plan to get more to automate the rest of the house. Installation and setup only took a few minutes and then you can just forget about them as they do their job quietly and reliably. The only minor issue I’ve encountered is that I need to oil or use WD40 on the curtain pole about twice a year to keep everything running smoothly, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker. We love showing them off to guests and it’s especially great when we’re on holiday as it gives the impression someone is home. Highly recommended

Elegant and Simple
The media could not be loaded. The switchbot curtain robots are a fantastic and simple way to bring smart home functionality to our curtains. The installation was very simple, with the app giving to each step in either pictoral or video form. The units are seemlessly paired together within the app (for a middle close solution) and then they will self calibrate. Simply genius. We were especially pleased that these worked, after having tried a generic/Chinese belt driven track. That solution simply did not work, it would constantly jam, or not close/open the entire way. Im sure this is because the individual eyelets were getting caught.I was apprehensive that the switchbot motors may not work with our curtains, as the track is so long (nearly 5 meters) and th curtains themselves are thick and heavy. But theyre rated for 16kgs, so i gave them a shot and they work!I have deducted a star because of the noise of the units. Ideally they would be quieter, but it is understandable. They can indeed run quieter if desired, but at a much slower pace. The way around this would be to schedule the slow openings at a time you may not notice them.

They are brilliant
Work as expected, super easy to install and setup. I also added the solar panels so I have never charged them since, as they charge super quick and efficiently. I’m super happy. The only down side is that the mini hub has a different and more expensive version for being compatible with Matter, which is essential if you are on HomeKit/Apple ecosystem.

Curtain opener for U- track noisy and clunky
I bought 2x curtain openers for the ikea U-track ceiling mounted track. It says it’s compatible. It does work but the noise from the motors and each curtain hook slide in the track makes it sound like a train on a track, also as the ikea tracks are made of several lengths joined it really struggles and gets jammed easily on the slightest misalignment between tracks.

Bought this to wake up to natural light, but I can't automate it! So what's the point?
Apart from the problems I had, it's a great product. The "QuietDrift" is great for waking up with natural light, the problem is that if you want to make use of it you'll need to every night navigate into hidden menus to set your app to the time you want to wake up.I just wanted to ask Siri, "wake me up at X AM", but I can't. And they don't make this option available in any smart home platform. The "simplest" solution I found was by calling their API, and you need to have a hub connected to their servers, which is ridiculous. My phone is literally connected to the device via Bluetooth. Why does someone in Japan need to know when I want to open my curtains? And what if their servers are down? And how about the latency? This is truly stupid.Smart home device makers need to understand that people are interested in their hardware, not their services. Just please make hardware that work on their own! Also annoying that you need to create an account with them to be able to connect to the device LOCALLY via Bluetooth! This is a bloody appliance, what's wrong with these people?

Great idea but complicated and erratic.
Couldn't get the thing to work despite many tries.
