Excellent paper quality in a compact notebook
The paper quality in this Midori MD A6 notebook is outstanding. It’s smooth to write on and handles pens and fountain ink very well with minimal bleed-through or feathering. The A6 size is perfect for quick notes and carrying around daily, and the simple design keeps the focus on writing. A great choice if you care about paper feel and clean, minimal notebooks.

It Does What You Bought It For!
This is a great lay flat notebook… Although it can handle fountain ink, I do not recommend use of a heavy flowing nib. I would also use quick drying inks. I did not experience bleed through, but severe smudging did occur. I would not go beyond a medium nib nor use a very slow drying ink. Now the positives are many. As previously mentioned it lays very flat, The design is nearly perfect it just is simply what it is supposed to be. Typically Japanese understated and always elegant, from the impossibly beautiful design to it’s understated ribbon place holder. The stickers are also a nice touch with wrap around the page duality. Hai!

The best high-end notebook
Midori, for my money, is the best and highest quality notebooks/paper. I've tried all of the fanciest french and japanese papers (even side by side). Midori is a creamy white color, no bleeding, slightly thicker gsm, and soft paper... it is not slick like many others. Last, the build quality is wonderful every time.

Great quality paper, will buy again
Very nice quality paper, perfect for writing with heavy inks, but it does make drying times a bit longer than similar papers.

Stunning notebook
This notebook is so well-designed and well-made. The grid is the perfect size and lightness; the sewed binding is secure and helps the notebook lie totally flat when open on any pair of pages; the paper is a pleasant and elegant cream color; there is no bleedthrough or ghosting when writing; and the notebook has plenty of pages while still being portable. 10/10 from Midori, I can understand the hype.

GO-TO Grid notebook for new journalers!
I am new to journaling and was pretty apprehensive about which journal to pick. I am the type of person to research and research, but at the end I decided to just pick this product and give it a shot. The minimalistic design is perfect and it includes stickers for you to put throughout the notebook or on the cover page! I had a problem with previous notebooks where it would not lay flat and I would have to use my whole arm to press the notebook down while I write, but no need for that here. Color is a creamish color (super cute). Dots are well placed. Great quality and durable. I believe they have a lined version, but the grid suited my aesthetic a little more, so I went with that. :) BEWARE! I use an ink pen for my journaling and you can see what you write from the previous page. No bleeding but the writing IS visible.

Perfect for fountain pens
I love these notebooks! I use them for journaling, and they're a good size to fit in my daily tote bag. The dot grid pattern is helpful. The paper feels lightweight, but I use fountain pens to write, and the ink doesn't bleed through like it does on some thicker, but lower-quality paper. I'm left-handed, and the ink I use dries quickly enough to avoid smudging. Since it lies almost flat, it's also easier for me to use both sides of the notebook. The only drawback for me is the cream color of the cover. I haven't found a cover to put over the journal, so all the marks and smudges from carrying it around every day show up clearly. I've tried decorating the cover with stickers and washi tape, but those tend to peel off.

I heard a great deal about japnese stationery and how their paper is superior than other. it's really true. it makes any ink that jave the slightest chance of shading or sheening , glow like no other paper. the writing experience is smooth. only negetive would be that being super ink resistance, sheening ink tends to smudge even after some days. best to carry a blotting paper and and use it as a book mark to prevent any smudging and smearing.

The paper is smooth and handles pen ink well with no bleed-through. Dot grid is subtle but useful. Lays flat easily which was very important to me and makes it great for journalling or notes.
