BEST COFFEEMAKER for HARD WATER
If you have hard water issues with your coffeemaker this Mr Coffee 14 cup with water filter is the ticket. I am so happy to have found this and able to change filter cartridge monthly. It has an attractive clock display and is programmable. I’ve only had it since Christmas but am very pleased with the quality and performance. It has a programmable timer for the hot plate as well (1,2,3,or 4 hours). Love the taste, easy to clean and is relatively quiet, also has an alert when brewing is complete. All in all, great choice especially for those with well water.

Best Coffee Maker on the Market!!!
This is really the best home coffee maker we have had. There is no leaking when you pour. It has a timer and you can make it stringer with the press of a button. Looks great and goes perfectly with our kitchen appliances. Great purchase

Great result for the inexpensive cost.
Worked flawlessly for a year and quit. Bought another of the same brand and model that same day. My wife loves that it makes coffee perfectly fine for her. She loves consistency in flavor and temperature. I throw a few ice cubes into my cup though.

Not for under a cabinet
Please note that this machine requires the top to open all the way in order to pour in water to fill the tank. The tank sits behind the coffee filter which takes up a lot of space. The Sprinkler head is attached to the lid, so you have to open it completely in order to be able to pour water in. If you're buying this coffee maker, plan on putting it in an area where there's nothing above it. My second gripe is with the carafe. It has this weird plastic spill guard where you pour. I get it. It's a big glass carafe. The plastic part probably adds some structure and strength as well as prevents spills. It makes it hard to clean though. Those are my two complaints. Here's the good stuff: It makes a great cup of coffee. It's reliable. It makes a lot when needed. It's easy to program. It has select-able times to keep the coffee warm and not a default 3 hours like some machines. The coffee is hot and stays hot. A standard 12 cup paper filter fits great for mid sized pots. They make larger paper filters but they're too big - you have to fold them. Cons: Not space saving, weird carafe Pros: Everything else

Good Product
Have looked at and tried many coffee makers over the years. So far, I think this one is the best value given the cost and its many features. Makes great, hot coffee. Like the increased capacity, and the fact that I can extend the “keep warm” time.

Mr Coffee 14-Cup programmable
Replaced original coffee pot (same kind), due leaking Carafe seal & old age. New unit is working well. We like the programming features, 14-cup capacity, and Cleaning + warming options.

Not perfect, but does the job it is supposed to do
Overall, I really like the coffee maker. After using it for a while, there are a few things that I have found make the coffee maker not as ideal as I would like. A bit of background, this coffee maker is being used to replace a Keurig that is about 15 years old that had clogging problems when using a purchased coffee that was a bit more finely ground than I normally use. We would also occasionally use the Keurig to dispense hot water, but I was always told that it had a slight coffee taste. To avoid the slight coffee taste, I would have to thoroughly clean the Keurig before dispensing hot water. I also drink a larger cup of coffee every morning (about 16-20 oz), and most of the single-serve coffee makers don’t easily support the larger cups of coffee. Given that, I decided that a non-single serve maker was the way to go. I like this coffee maker because there is a timer built-in so I can put everything in the coffee maker the night before, set the timer, and wake up to hot, freshly brewed coffee. I also like the fact that it doesn’t automatically try and brew a pot of coffee if I forget to set everything up the night before. I also like the warming plate that will keep the coffee warm if I have a number of things to do first thing in the morning before I get a chance to enjoy my coffee. Another thing that I appreciate on this coffee maker is the built-in water filter. My water is not the best tasting unless it is filtered. I normally use a faucet filter to remove a majority of the not so great tastes from the water, but having an additional carbon filter makes me more confident that I am using good tasting water without resorting to using bottled water. There are a few things that I have issues with on the coffee maker. They aren’t deal breakers, but they do make my coffee preparation a little more difficult. First, the carafe is shaped so that if you are using the carafe to fill the water reservoir, it is not easy to get all the water from the carafe into the water reservoir. I have yet to be able to fully empty the carafe so I either need to pour the small amount of residual water into the sink or remember that there is a little water left in the carafe that might make a taste difference if I’m brewing a small amount of coffee. Next, I mentioned that I liked the warming plate to keep my coffee warm. Everything I read about this coffee maker said that it was supposed to automatically shut off if the carafe was empty or close to empty. Well, this morning I poured my cup of coffee and had a little bit left that I thought I would have a little later in the morning. I finished my big cup and went to add the remainder to my cup. Unfortunately, the water had evaporated from the carafe and I was left with scorched coffee reside while the warming plate was still on, keeping my scorched coffee residue warm. Maybe I missed a setting on the coffee maker, but without a paper manual included, I wouldn’t know for sure. I have also noticed that since the handle on the carafe is not solid, it tends to accumulate water in the handle and then leak onto the warming plate or wherever I set the carafe after washing. Something that probably isn’t an issue for most people, but caused me a trip to the store, many, many years ago, coffee makers used to come with a few coffee filters. I know that the gold-toned filter is supposed to be enough but with the finely-ground coffee I currently have, using just the gold-toned filter does pass a bit of ground residue through to the carafe. I wish that the coffee maker would have included a couple of coffee filters so I wouldn’t have had to make a trip to the store. The last issue, and for me the biggest issue, is that the hot water showerhead is located in an awkward position for me to pour the water into the reservoir as a left hander. Would it make a difference if I wasn’t a left hander? I don’t know as there are only left handers in the house. Even with the issues that I have, I would definitely purchase this coffee maker again.
