Factory Original Mercedes SL: The Originality Guide to Mercedes-Benz SL Models, 1963-2003

Great photos and information, really enjoyed reading this book.

This is a really good book with great colour photography of surviving cars rather than period photos like a lot of other books have. The information on each model is pretty detailed but unlike say the Jaguar e Type book which just covers one model this covers three variants of the SL and to get in to the detail required this book could easily be split in to three separate books. My focus was on the Pagoda so the sections on the 107 and 129 were not if as much interest. The Pagoda section is very good.

Great book, good balance between text and photos. The book is split about equally between Pagoda, R107, and R129 models.My main interest was in the R107 section, but the sections on the Pagoda and R129 are equally interesting and readable. There is extensive photography of actual surviving cars, not too much use of period factory pictures which seems to be common with other books on this subject.

Brilliant book ,a great amount of information on each specific model of the SL,

I bought this book hoping I could add new/relevent information to help me restore an SL to 100 point. However find this book too general in nature and too many models covered so that every variant does not get the treatment it deserves
