Great Machine Held Back by Serious Ground Clamp Issue - Updated
I really wanted to love the TIG-205P Pro. For the price, it offers impressive features, clean arc starts, and easy controls — everything I was looking for in a light TIG welder.Unfortunately, after only 2 hours of use, the stock ground clamp cable melted and completely severed at the connection point. This wasn’t due to misuse — I was running well within the machine’s capabilities. Upon inspection, the included cable is only 16mm² (roughly #5 AWG), which seems undersized for a machine rated to output 200+ amps. Combine that with what appears to be a poor or loose internal connection at the clamp, and the result is overheating, melted insulation, and a failed cable. This is more than an inconvenience — it’s a serious safety concern. I’ve reached out to Yeswelder directly and am hopeful they’ll make it right by sending a properly rated ground cable and addressing this flaw in future builds. If the grounding issue is resolved, this would be a solid 5-star machine. But until then, I strongly recommend replacing the ground cable and clamp immediately if you buy this unit.Update: After posting my initial review, Yeswelder customer service reached out promptly and offered to send a replacement ground clamp, no hassle. They explained that the failure was likely caused by poor contact between the clamp and the workpiece, which can cause overheating due to high current flow — a fair point.I still believe the included ground cable may be undersized for a machine capable of over 200 amps and will update again if that proves to be true. That said, customer service was excellent, and I appreciate their support!

Consistent Operation, Simple Controls, Great Results
Purchased with the foot pedal for amperage control. Been pleased with simple controls and consistent operation. Have only used the DC option thus far for roughly 20 hours on mild steel and stainless but highly satisfied overall.

No digital display.
Ribbon cable had come loose, presumably during shipping. When I initially turned it on there was no digital readout. Removed the cover, reconnected the ribbon cable. Good to go. Burnt 1 3/32 7018 with 110v supply like a champ. Into the shed until I have work for it.

good welder used it for TIG welding SS

Weak amperage
The stick, and tig are weaker than advertised and the alliminum setting doesn't work. Spend the money on a name brand if you want real power.

Best welder for the money of all time!
I have been a certified professional welder for over 20 years and own countless welders. This little thing performs amazing, considering the price. I was very sceptical when I bought it but figured what the heck for 200 bucks I cant go wrong if it works. When I unboxed it the cables and stuff are slightly cheap looking but hey, you get what you pay for. I ran a bunch of sample weld set ups starting with stick. I plugged the welder in to my Honda EU 3500 portable generator in the 30A plug. I ran beads on flat plate starting from 30 amps all the way to 100 amps on the welder with no problem! That was the most I could get out of it on the generator, but it is still amazing, considering it runs off of a generator. Then I plugged it into my 220 power off of my miller and ran beads consistently for about an hour perfectly at full power with no problems at all. It is amazing as the unit is so light compared to my other units. I plan to buy another one for 200 bucks and use it when I work in remote locations that do not require heavy ship welds. This thing is awesome; you can't go wrong with the price. I recommend buying it and getting insurance on it. You will be welding in no time, and if anything happens, you can return or replace it. You can buy 12 of these instead of 1 comparable miller. Nuff said

Shipped with incorrect leads, seller eventually fixed
Welder arrived with incorrect connectors on both the stick stinger and the ground clamp, so the welder is pretty much unusable. Trying to contact the seller through Amazon only gives you the option of a phone number that nobody picks up, completely useless. Contacting the manufacturer through their website got me a response, after a days delay, that they would transfer my case to the Amazon sales department, then nothingI'm sure the machine would be serviceable, of only I could use it. As it stands it's a paperweight, and the manufacturer wants nothing to do with a solution. Even if the machine works perfectly, I still recommend buying something elseUpdate 06/25/2021: Initial assessment of the manufacturer still stands. Trying to contact through amazon only give you a phone number nobody answers, emailing the seller through contact information posted on their website creates a massive delay as the support department needs to transfer you to an Amazon specific support department. When i finally reached the proper department, i informed them that "the welder shipped with incorrect twist-locks on the ground clamp and stick welding stinger i purchase through amazon, order number XXX-XXX-XXX". When i finally got a response, it was to ask me for my address, which logic says would be on the order already, i was told that the proper parts would be shipped out. A full week later, when the box finally showed up, I opened it to find a ground clamp that actually worked on the welder, and a tig torch. Notably absent was the stick welding stinger, giving them a 50% failure rate on the replacement partsMeanwhile, i spent the extra money to just order the proper twist-locks from a different company and installed them on the original leads a week prior to receiving the (wrong) replacement parts. Dunno about you, but i feel that i shouldnt have to spend more money to correct a companies mistakes in a timely manner, so my star rating hasnt changed. In fact, i wish i had originally rated this 2 stars, just so i could take another offMoving on to a review of the actual welder, now that i can actually use it, the machine works well enough, id say its worth 3-4 stars if you get one that actually functions out of the box. Ive got it hooked up to 220, and it creates a plenty stable arc, works like youd expect a welder to work. Amp adjustment is insanely touchy, moving the knob even slightly can rocket you 20 amps, makes dialing it in a PITA, and completely impossible when wearing gloves. Post-gas is about 8 seconds and non-adjustable, other machines in this price bracket give you adjustment options. The included foot pedal is handy, but be warned its on-off only and cannot be used to vary the power. Personally, i dont care about that, but some people might. The TIG torch is a little unwieldy, i know that they had to include a torch rated for the max amp rating of the machine but its still pretty massive. Ill be looking into getting a smaller #9 torch in the near futureOverall, its a decent enough machine and itll get the job done, but its worth avoiding just because of the company selling it. Had i received an actually functional machine, or even received prompt responses and a satisfactory resolution to the incorrect leads, or even just an apology at some point, i wouldve had no problem recommending this one, but as it stands, one star it isUpdate 07/07/2021: Well, apparently yeswelder has someone keep an eye on their product reviews, shortly after revising my review i had a customer service agent reach out to apologize to me. Ill admit, i was having a bad day so i was pretty short with them in my reply and pretty up-front in saying that an apology wouldnt change my review, but the agent took it in stride and let me know that they werent looking to get a better review, they just wanted to make the situation right, and they offered to refund the cost of my buying the proper DINSE connectors, as well as send me a pack of electrodes. While i am still irritated at the situation, credit where credit is due, they did eventually make things right, and the welder does ultimately work pretty well. Ive been able to get good results from it, and my professional welder buddy gave it a thumbs-up after running a few beads. Worth a few stars back at the end of the day
