ED64 Plus Game Save Drive

This is a review of the ED64 plus enhanced version. This is the version that doesn't require a cartridge on top.So the absolute most important thing... it works. Anything beyond that is a bonus in my mind. The build quality seems on par with N64 cartridges I have handled before. Its a bit lighter than a standard cartridge. I do not have the n64 expanded memory so there are some games I simply cannot test. However every single game I have tried so far has worked perfectly. The package includes a disk with a few files on it. That is REQUIRED for the cart to work. You would copy and paste everything on the disk onto your SD card. Then you put your roms in the root directory... the same one you copied all those files into. I found it would glitch if I tried putting the roms somewhere else. I also HIGHLY recommend a quality high speed SD card. I could possibly see your games lagging if you used too slow a card.Opening up the card and looking at the components... It seems all is in order and soldered properly. This card does not seem cheap even if it is made in china.all in all I highly recommend this romcart for those who just want to play games. it sure beats forking over 200 dollars to that other guy... and I am sure you know who I mean.I will edit once I get expanded ram and can check those last few games.

The concept and price of this item is great. However, I had some issues with mine. My computer (Mac) was unable to get the files from the disc that was provided and I had to use my friend's windows laptop. The website doesn't exist anymore so getting the files online is impossible. I managed to get the files on to the SD card as well as all of my roms. I put it into my N64 and it was looking like I was going to be able to play some games on my original console. I was disappointed..... The loading screen would pop up and then it would go black and the rom wouldn't play. This cartridge would also disable my N64 and I ended up having to remove the expansion pack and all of the connections in order to have my console play games again. I bought this thinking that I could play a couple of games that I have wanted for a long time on the original console, but it didn't work.I'll just stick with my raspberry pi and if I really want to, I'll dish out the extra cash for an Everdrive 64.

Broke within 3 days of use. Not to mention setting it up was a hassle, pouring through various dead ends and forum links to find a working solution. I would steer clear of this. Was playing Tony’s Hawk and paused it to return to loud glitched music and black screen only to power down and never power back on. Bummer.

Works well. Easy to load games, and playback is fine.Minus one star: certain cart save games don't work. And there are occasional glitches. Worth owning.

Product description says it comes with an 8gb sd card. I did not have on included. I know this isn't a huge deal but its annoying to have to go spend another 10 dollars to buy an sd card when you were expecting one to come with the product.

This works great, I can get any game I want and play it on my 64 console. Kinda tough to figure out how to use it, but just follow direction you find online. Once you figure it out for one game, you can easily do any game you want

Was working great when I first got it, but the process of making the game work was quite complex. If you are to accidentally unplug it, you can lose your whole save data. Another HUGE issue I had was that it stopped working after I put another cartridge in. Not sure if it's really worth the spend.

be warned this is a very cheap knockoff of the real thing, it worked for me about once than it didn't want to start anymore.every game worked except this one. besides dirty controller slots my n64 is in perfect condition, I've never had a game refuse to load before, especially one straight out of the box.
