Works perfectly
This chicken light heater works great! It keeps my chickens warm without the harsh red glow, and I’ve noticed they seem calmer and more comfortable. It’s reliable, easy to set up, and way better than the traditional red heat lamps. Definitely recommend for any chicken owner!

Works great, love the size
The sticker on the top of the heat plate that says "bottom" with a photo is a little confusing, but I understand what it is trying to show. That is my only complaint so far on this product. It was easy to assemble, change height and clean. The temp it puts out seems perfect.I bought several to send with families who "chick-sit" our hatchlings to learn how to care for them. So much safer than heat lamps! Heat plate is hot to the touch, but not so hot a child will burn themselves as soon as they touch it.Fits 7-10 three week old chicks comfortably, though they are rarely all under it at the same time.

Works great! Adjustable legs to adjust the temperature for changing height to accommodate bird size. Would definitely purchase another.

Perfect for raising baby chicks
I hatch out several groups of chicks during the early part of the year. What I'm not thrilled about is seeing what it costs to run several 250 watt heat lamp bulbs at a time - it's expensive. While I'm extremely careful with checking bulbs and cleaning dust off daily, putting covers over brooders, minding cord placement, and secondary securing methods, there's still always risk associated with bulb usage. So, I decided to switch over to brooder plates for some. Also, I live in Minnesota where it can still get very cold and snowy into the month of April. But it's highly beneficial to start birds as early so they can grow as much as possible before next winter rolls in. The trick is getting them acclimated and outside without stressing them too much or having them chill. This year, thanks to the warmer temps, I was able to start in January. I had several large groups (+10) that were already a few weeks old so a smaller plate wouldn't get me very far, so I opted for the largest. These plates are extremely quick to assemble and snap together like the name brand ones. They do take a little bit of time to heat up but they are comfortable to the touch. I currently have about 12 week-old chicks under one and there's still ample room underneath. Another benefit is that it gives the chicks a more natural night/day. Also, chicks under plates seem to feather out faster (which makes sense) and will allow me to remove the heat source sooner than I would for chicks under a red bulb.I will still prefer to raise them under a heat lamp for the first week so they get a good, solid start but I'll most likely be ordering more of these for the future. Great size, effective, and easy on the wallet.

Kept my chicks nice and warm
Works like it should and kept my baby chicks nice and warm without the use of a heat lamp. Install consists of putting the legs in the holes, so pretty dang easy. Good price. Only thing I would say is I wish I had gotten one that had a sloped/cone top because the chicks got on top of it and made a huge mess. I had no issues with the products safety and the size was good for 7 chicks. Even after that got quite a bit bigger they all fit.

Worked one day
Worked one day. Chicks got under it and were happy. Wrote a favorable review.Next day, checked them in the afternoon and the indicator light was off. Then it would come on intermittently. Checked plug and connection. Turned it off to see if it would reset.Continued to turn off and on. Chicks let me know. When it’s on, they are under it. Off, and they are out searching for heat.Had to set up a bulb for the chicks.Unreliable. Returning. Very dissatisfied.

TEST BEFORE CHICKS ARRIVE
Stopped working after less than 24 hours. Thankfully, my chicks haven’t arrived yet. Edited to 3 stars: the seller contacted me to figure out what the issue with the unit was. It was determined that the plate was faulty and they refunded my money immediately.
