as a professional musician..
I was genuinely surprised by the quality of this for the price. As a professional musician that relies on their gear when travelling, generally speaking cheap pedals just arent up to the job. However, i'd seen good reviews despite the price and needed something light when travelling abroad for short trips by air. Normally id use a mission engineering pedal which of course is very premium and robust but also many times more expensive, and very heavy! This sonicake is made from what appears to be and ABS type composite with a metal plate on the bottom and metal hardware in all the right places to keep it strong and functional. There are some nice little engineering things i appreciate too like putting a small rubber pad under where the heel rests as well and the normal toe stops. Its also easy to adjust the tension of the pedal stiffness (you'll need a hex key to tighten this) and also to nip up the the straight gear bolt, where the is an access cutout. Another nice feature is that they've added 5 dense rubber feet with the extra 5th one around the base of the heel right where its needed. Upon internal inspection i was please to see quality soldering and mounting of the pot and PCB, and best of all its a passive pedal so no batteries needed. Im using this with a Quad Cortex and the once calibrated it works perfectly with a nice smooth linear sweep. All good on the operational front! If there was one slight negative, and this is a personal one, it could do with being a tiny bit heavier. I do think they have struck a good balance on the weight but for me, as its smallish, i just want to decrease the chance of it moving at all on stage so i will likely add just a tiny bit of weight to the inside by sticking weight to the other side of the metal base plate (car wheel weights are great for this). I will update this review after some time, but honestly for this price i cannot recommend this enough. In fact, i think ill order another so i can take two with me as both together are still smaller and lighter than the mission pedal.

A great boon on top of the wah effect is having extra volume ready at a dab of your foot
This pedal has a small neat foot print that's the same size as most standard pedal / stomp boxes, this one has a metal base but sturdy plastic casing. It feels very solid & sturdy and is powered by 9v negative centre pedal / stomp box adaptors (not supplied) although beware there’s no internal battery option. That’s not a problem for me as I’ve got a portable 9v battery pack. A nice thing that separates this pedal from the others is that has a built volume control on the pedal unlike the cry baby, this means you can have the extra volume ready at a dab of your foot rather than having to find the volume knob with your hand while playing. This is a boon if it want to quickly get a bit of distortion. Wah Wah works well & tone wise sounds great with a good sweep & it’s fairly noiseless unless I really crank everything up! Although that said in my place I have a lot of I.T. kit so it’s a very noisy environment anyway. it’s also half the size of the cry baby so portability is great but works just as well. Another nice feature is the LED's which show if the WAH effect is on or off by glowing red or green. I like that visual confirmation without having play a test strum. The price is also an advantage over the similar completion so value wise it seems a great buy to me!

Superb mini Vol/Wah
I needed to rearrange my pedalboard but I wanted something lighter and smaller than my Dunlop Wah. I saw this, read the reviews and watched some demos.. On the strength of those I bought it. It's tiny and made of very sturdy hard plastic. On plugging in, it defaults to Volume mode and there are green lights to indicate this. A further press on the top of the pedal takes you to Wah mode, red lights... there is no off.. It is perfectly controllable, despite its small size. The Volume is smooth, and I dare say there are smoother more expensive volume pedals but this works very well. The Wah mode is equally good with a good sweep, and is perfectly capable of those 'Shaft' sounds and wailing lead solos.... If you're looking for a value for money Wah that takes up very little room on your board then give this a try..

Remember your 9V power supply!!!!
Good quality but it isn’t made clear in the spec that you need a 9V power supply (sold separately) so not able to use on Christmas day

Impressed
It's a lot of pedal for the price. Full size and easy to use apart from the switching issue that had been mentioned elsewhere. It's impossible to switch from wah to volume seated, standing it takes a good heavy stomp. Not a deal breaker for me as I mainly wanted the volume pedal it just made sense to pay the bit extra for the wah. There's a couple of rubber pads on the bottom of the pedal which cause the issue. I'm very tempted to remove one. Nice pedal tho exactly as described.

Value for money
Great value for money and ideal for a rig that does not take up much room and is not too heavy to carry.

Didn't work.
Mine came and sadly wouldn't work. You had to press down manually with your hand on the switch to get it to engage, pushing with your foot didn't work at all. Returned it super disappointed as I like the brand and have a few back up pedals by them and really wanted a vol wah that was this size, I'm using the tiny version of it which works fantastic but I just want a bigger size and so went for this and yeah... Not good.... And upon searching on Google many others had issues with this pedal too and it's actually quite hard to come by now and I'm assuming it's cos it's faulty and not well made.

Whilst this may appear as a Wah pedal, it is not. It is a volume pedal. If you searched for a wah pedal, and this came up and it was the BLACK model, that is the Wah pedal. If you change it to the BRONZE colour, that is a different pedal altogether: a volume pedal. It doesnt tell you this in the description. I did that and ended up with the wrong pedal. Very disappointed child on Xmas morning after plugging it into the amp.
