Good improvement over the HD10 Plus
As soon as the Fire Max 11 was introduced I knew I wanted one to replace my Fire HD10 Plus, but decided to wait until Prime Day. Boy am I glad I did.... 42% off, so a brand new tablet for £150 (without ads), it was a no brainer. When I took it out of the box I was initially surprised that it did not seem to be much bigger than the HD10, but then realised the bezels were much thinner and when it was turned on I could really see how much more screen real estate there was considering the small increase in screen size. The HD10 Plus is a good tablet, but the Fire Max 11 steps it up a notch, it feels higher quality which I put down to its metal construction and it feels much snappier. I purchased the keyboard case too which I am using to write this review and it also feels good quality with plenty of room to type. It turns the tablet into a decent budget laptop solution, so I may end up selling my old MacBook. The display is crisp and bright and the finger print sensor works really well and saves having to enter a PIN everytime I want to use it. Battery life seems very good, but I have not had chance yet to see if it will be better than the excellent life of the HD10. The sound isn't wonderful, but perfectly fine for watching the odd YouTube video. If I wanted to listen to music I would use headphones. For those people complaining about it not having the Play store, it clearly states in the "We want you to know" part of the description "that Google Play is not supported on Amazon Fire Tablets". Amazon Fire tablets use their own bespoke version of Google OS, so that is similar to saying why can't I install Windows programs on my MAC .... they are different operating systems, albeit based on Google. This does not mean that you cannot add the Play Store to the Fire Max 11 as that is the first thing I did when I took it out of the box. It took less than 10 minutes and is very simple to do, no special skills needed. For those undecided, just try it. With the points I have mentioned I don't think you will be disappointed.

Very good product and great value
I bought this tablet the Fire Max 11 on impulse as it was discounted quite a bit. I had read some reviews which were quite mixed mainly due to the locked down OS and lack of important apps such as Gmail and Utube. However I went ahead and bought because I currently use Prime and my old kindle Oasis was getting long in the tooth and I liked the idea to look at some books and mags in Colour (Very nice colours actually). I got a three month subscription to Kindle unlimited and am very impressed so far with the content especially access to some excellent magazines. I just love reading books on it especially with the larger screen. Still havn't tried Audible books but I'm sure it will work fine. I've found the Prime videos a bit darker than I like but otherwise very viewable when I can't get near our telly. The Silk browser is good enough and actually I can access Utube through that when I need to. Speakers are fine but I can connect my Boom box to it via bluetooth when necessary. Battery life seems pretty solid and I like the USB c connection and being able to add more storage if needed later via memory card. So all in all for the money I feel I have got an absolute bargain and have no trouble highly recommending it.

Fantastic tablet for the price!
For a tablet so inexpensive I’m pleasantly surprised! The 11” display looks incredibly crisp and vibrant for a tablet at this price, the internal hardware is more than enough for daily web browsing/typical app usage and even for light to moderate productivity. The OS feels responsive albeit it not currently on par with the likes of Apple/Samsung’s offerings, although you wouldn’t necessarily expect it to. Battery life seems to be more than acceptable so far and external build quality is remarkably premium feeling in the hand. Overall I’d say this is a great tablet as a cheap daily driver, a good step up for a child moving up from the more kid focused tablets on offer from Amazon which they may be accustomed to, or if you just want a budget tablet for media consumption and web surfing. With OS and feature improvement over time this could very well become a 5/5 product, until then a great option nonetheless.

Cheaper option to an iPad and has a premium feel
First of all, our house has been without a good tablet for a few years and we’ve been relying on our iPhones for online shopping etc. We used to have an iPad then it broke after some years of use. We got the fire 8 in 2020 which was ok for playing videos but didn’t feel to the standard of an iPad. We now have our first child and putting kids videos on is becoming more important and the desire for a bigger screen to look at for shopping, streaming etc. Moneys tight so hearing the fire max 11 is more of a premium tablet appealed to us compared with buying an iPad. For what we need which is entertainment, streaming, shopping and an all round tablet, it’s great - 5 stars. It’s much faster and feels very premium compared to the fire 8. I’m not also as worried if we don’t end up using it much compared to if I bought an iPad. My child will get lots of use. I feel the price is appropriate for what I need from a tablet so good value at £139.99 The screen is better resolution and I believe less prone to break, much faster and I can get out of it what I’d want from an iPad. We have Alexa etc so it’s nice how it has features which make it a great home tablet. Bought it for £139.99 on prime day which I feel is a good price and I’m happy with it. My only gripe is that I would have liked to get the the keyboard and cover with it but at £90 (I bought an echo show 8 for £15ish less lol) and not on any offer, I gave it a miss with the hope of it reducing in price in future. If you are looking at it at full price (£250) I’d suggest looking at other tablets and comparing as I feel there may be better value at £250-300. Little options for an alternative case at present (mostly around £20-30 which is pricey and don’t seem the best quality). I get this tablet is newly launched so hopefully the accessories drop in price and more choice of colours are available.
