Super fun trinket to keep on the desk
I keep this on my desk and put some of my 3d Prints on display with it and people love it! Always get asked where I got it and how it works, great conversation starter piece. As far as getting the magnet going, I found that making sure the base is level was really important. Also, if it wasn't working, giving it a wipedown with the included microfiber cloth definitely helped. My only complaint is the power indicator led was super bright, so I covered it up with a little piece of tape.

defective unit received
Powered unit up and the base got really hot to the touch. Platform did not stay in place. Moved platform to another base I had from "floating lightbulb" and the platform stayed locked in place and without the base getting hot or even warm to the touch. Conclusion is the base is defective, perhaps even shorting out. Returning unit for a replacement. If I get another defective unit, quality control would be severely lacking. Let's see how the replacement will go.

Easy to setup
Add something with weight u have about 2-5 minutes. The base will will get hot if u take too long. U will feel a different kind of force almost like a click as if it's locking in place. Try different lil objects with some weight. Once it's set u can remove the object and place what ever u like. If u feel the base getting hot. Unplug let it cool and try again.

Does not levitate
Does not work, needs a sensor or two along with feedback to function.

Very cool product !
My son and I enjoy it a lot, though it took me a day of trials to make the magnet disc levitate without crashing into the base while believing the product is damaged. I didn't manage to do it exactly like they said in the instructions, but, I kind of developed my own voodoo way: 1. Of course don't make it overheat by trying for more than 5 minutes. 2. don't remove the nylon, the first crashes will scratch the base. If you have something to protect the base further, like some transparent plastic (from a cd box?) so you can still see the base, try to use it, I didn't and I have quite a few scratches. 3. Look from above to aim for the middle of the base, hold the disc with both hands' thumbs and index or middle fingers, bring it swiftly to the ~2cm height point, and feel with your fingers if it is balanced and make small corrections for a few seconds and see if you can let it go. If you feel you're fighting magnetic forces for more than a few seconds take it away and retry. 4. If it's already balanced, you can even put something opaque on the base to protect it from scratches, while you try new things. 5. Mine made a click sound when I came close but not close enough to the base, don't know if it should, but it worked anyways.

Perfect conversation piece
Not sure if I just got lucky with mine or what but I don't get why other people are saying theirs are overheating. My forgetful ass forgot to unplug it one day and it stayed on for 2 weeks straight. Wasn't even warm to the touch. It has now been displaying my Herkimer diamond for over a month and, still, not even warm to the touch. I love it.

Works great!
Works great! Once you get the hang of centering, it’s super easy to put together. Can easily support 350 grams as it says - maybe a little more!

Holds little to no weight
Says it holds up to a certain amount of weight which is totally false, after receiving it and checking what it can and cant hold, it can barely hold anything with just the smallest bit of weight. I bought it to display/Rotate my collectible Thor Hammer that weights almost nothing and it cant hold it up. Also fun fact, it floats by magnets so anything you're trying to place on the device that has electrical things or other magnets or batteries, will throw off everything on this thing and it becomes a nightmare to sync with the center to have it float again, i can't tell you the amount of times i pinched my fingers as the magnet top slams into the base because something i tried to set on it didnt work on it.
