Impressively detailed and great final result!
This is fantastic model and the detailing is superb throughout. I love the look of the Flying Dutchman and the LEDs bring it to light. All the additional elements that build up as you go such as the ghost faces on the portholes, the extra panelling and so on, really add depth to the model and makes you think they could have just stopped there with some of the details, only to find they keep adding more. What's especially good is that no two components are exactly the same - different graphic detailing on everything means they didn't just copy/paste from one side to the other. Instructions are easy to follow and the build was a lot of fun - just being cardboard, take your time! Some parts were tricky to slot together because if you don't have something correctly lined up earlier, then later when you need to attach an adjoining piece you could find it won't reach. Some tips - pinch the ends of the tabs before insertion so they go in easier At the end, many of the wasted punched out pieces I was able to use to fill in gaps were pieces didn't quite go flush together and where light from the LEDs bled through. Those little centimetre long panel pieces that you'd throw away were excellent for glueing into the gaps and blocking up the bleed in many places.

Absolutely brilliant!
I absolutely love doing these! PLEASE RELEASE MORE!! First, I made the Flying Dutchman. I loved this ship in the movies, so it was a no brainier. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed making it, and how cool it looks when complete. This promoted me to quickly purchase and build the red Queen Anne’s Revenge. This one was also really fun to build, and so much detail! I love the rear window and the gold detailing that goes on. I had to finish the set. So I have just today completed the black Queen Anne’s Revenge (The Black Pearl). Difficulty wise:Queen Anne’s Revenge was definitely the easiest one to complete, so a good starting point if you want to do them all. This was followed by the Flying Dutchman as the sort of middle ground. The front mouth was quite tricky at times. Oddly, the most difficult of them all was the black variation of the Queen Anne’s Revenge aka, Black Pearl. There is a lot of really tricky parts in this, small pieces and the sails/masts are a lot harder to get together and keep together when attaching to the main ship. Like other reviews, I was a little disappointed that the cannons on this one are also card, unlike the plastic ones in the other ships. But overall, I highly recommend anyone to give these all a go. I had great fun and I think I’ll carry on and do some others from the range. *Please do Silent Mary from Pirates Of The Caribbean!! Edit (again) I have just completed the San Felipe. This was another really enjoyable one to do. The colours on this one are amazing, and it really does stand out. The Mary Rose would be a great release too!

A really great challenge to build and it looks fantastic with the lights in the dark when completed. Great instructions.

Not a 4 hour build, good looking ship
Nice looking model. Had fun, but not in 4 hours. It DOES NOT take anywhere near 4 hours to complete, people who say they did, did not, trust me. I put good time, care and patience and it took me around 10 hours fully to complete, which took me over 2 days to have a brake. A few points to note. A few parts bent and almost broke. The first was when you have to add the lower hexagon shaped cover for the middle mast, I had to dissemble the full mast and netting to put on the cover, because it only states on the last page, when to add the cover, after you already assembled the mast. I feel this needs changing. Second almost broke area , and is bent currently until I figure out why, is the two rope parts that go from mast 1 to two to strengthen the masts. These are added near the end and I struggled a little while trying to get the ropes to keep attached to the areas marked, but the ropes ended up bending because the masts where already in position strongly and they just bent out of place. A solution would be to have the middle rope abit smaller or how best attach the ropes without having the strain of two built masts resisting with each rope, thus forcing them to bend. Last problem was the sails. They kept popping out of position alot when trying to attach them to the mast. Again this is just resistance from the sail having to bend slightly. The lower part doesn't seem to fit under the U shaped part you add to the back of the mast to the sail, in order to secure it. The paper it's made from is good, just needs a better way to allow the U shaped part to attach without forcing the paper out of position if it can't go under the U shape to securely attach. Overall a nice looking ship, will look out for others if made available. Happy model building!

Nice but it’s paper
Good detail and looks beautiful but it’s paper. It’s quite big too and it’s definitely for much older kids. Or adults. Small kids won’t be able to assemble this. But was built with an adult so they had fun
