looks and feels quality ,operates very smoothly. Only lifted my 250lb anvil but very precise in it's operation. Light enough to move around easily.

Great little hoist, used on a track to move some heavy objects into place.

Absolutely love it. It raises my 54” zero turn so I can work under it. Also uses it to unnout a 115hp boat motor. No problem. Wouldn’t want to be without it.

It's heavy. Inside the box, the hoisted self is encased in a plastic bag to help keep some of the dirt and crud out. Besides the chain hoist itself, there's a small packet with an instruction booklet and an inspection certificate for the unit. According to the inspection certificate, this is rated for 0.75-ton capacity but has been tested at three tons. The instruction booklet is printed clearly but they're using a very small font. Maintenance for the chain block seems to be fairly simple. They recommend cleaning the parts with kerosene and smearing the gears and bearings once a year. They also note that the rollers on the chain sprocket might be stuck with Greece and give you caution about that. When doing the maintenance, they also caution you to be careful when assembling the brake mechanism so that the transition plates don't get turned around. They do give you an exploded view and specifications of the winch as well as an exploded view parts list. There is a hook on the top of the chain hoist as well as a corresponding clevis hook on the bottom of the lift chain. The chain for this appears to be a lighter-weight chain than I thought it might be. It's interesting though that the front of the instruction booklet shows that this is rated at half a ton, but the inspection certificate shows it's a 3/4 ton capacity. The side of the lifting block itself is marked 5 ton. Personally, I think if you're going over 1,000 lb you should use a hydraulic hoist and not a chain lift, but of course that'll vary depending on what you are and what you're doing with it. The safeties on the hooks are definitely a plus.

I ordered this to lift a 400 pound metal lathe off the pallet and onto the stand. When I took it out of the box I was pretty skeptical of its size. But it worked perfectly! Lifted the lathe appropriately 4 feet off the floor with no issues.
