Hoover SCB1500 SteamJet Steam Cylinder Cleaner, 1500 W

This steam cleaner is brilliant and works all around the house.It is not too heavy and the wheels mean it can be pulled along so no heavy lifting.If I was to criticise it then it would be the fact that a part was missing ( as this didn't make a difference,we haven't reported it) and the fact that the cable could do with having the ability to self re- wind. Having said that, it is good value for money and the wife loves it

The Hoover Steamjet is an impressive and powerful tool, The light Waite portability along with its power, make's this steamer a small but great tool to have around the home! its size makes for easy to store, it cleaning power matchers that of the Polti Steamer we owned before,Negative point. the tools are a little on the cheap side,BUT the amazon Guarantee, along with there (customer service) Gives you all the confidences you will ever need!

It has broken! I applied some slight pressure to the mop extender arm and it snapped!

There's some great things about this steam cleaner:* compact, very long lead so less stopping to plug/unplug, cylinder trails around quite happily behind you, easy to pick up, lightweight* most tools on board* pretty easy to assemble and use, love the lightweight gun - just shoot, point and clean!* the extenders are fab, makes it so easy to reach awkward places. Add the little scraper nozzle and it's great at getting off tough marks like dried on paint* powerful. The window squeege covered with the cloth is great for cleaning the bath and all worktop surfaces, and you don't need to buff after - no streaks!* great for cleaning curtains, light or heavy* good on the carpet, the brush worked well but the handle is super uncomfortable when applying pressure, sore red hand!And there's some not so great things:* there's no water gauge so you don't know when it's nearly empty. This is a nuisance as it frequently stops to reheat, but you may think it needs refilling and top up unnecessarily (with the excess water spilling out).* the green 'ready' light comes on too early. It takes 6 minutes to fully heat, so if you get fooled, you'll end up shooting a strong spray of water at whatever you're trying to clean. Not great.* even after 6 minutes, it sometimes takes a couple of goes before the jet of water turns into steam.* the extenders to use as a mop are kind of flimsy, feels like they'll break when pressure applied* terrible design for attaching the cloth to use as a mop, it clamps on and flaps around. It was better when I did it hospital corners style, but who wants to faff around doing that.* using just the brush head or the cloth, leaves streaky teeth marks from the brush on hard floors (tiles, marble, wood). Having used it a few times now, it leaves my floors sopping wet, takes over an hour to dry with tidemarks. Ugh.* you'll need to wrap the cord, it's not retractable and you can't fix it in placeHaven't used all the attachments yet, I'm keen to use it some more. Quite a good buy for the handheld part, but needs some development to push this into a must have piece of cleaning equipment.

can be a bit of a pain waiting for the steam to build up, but it does the job i wanted it for and at a very reasonable price - if i was using it often or professionally it would be too time consuming, but if you just want it for at home mopping, tile cleaning and carpet steaming it works fine

Simple to use, spare parts (like cleaning cloths to fit) though seem difficult to buy. Very good value and design.

Hoover steamjet, done the job I wanted it to do, one criticism, the whole handle seems to be weak, it could be made stronger, but otherwise nice steamer.
