MISSION Cooling Bucket Hat - Unisex Wide-Brim Hat for Men & Women - Lightweight, Foldable & Durable - Cools Up to 2 Hours

I bought this hat for roughly $20 and at the same time purchased one of the other Mission brand baseball cap style cooling hats so I have been able to compare both of these hats. This bucket hat isn't huge, and for my big head it is a little on the tighter side but still perfectly comfortable for me. Could be an issue for some though I imagine most people will be fine as I know my head is bigger than average and the fit doesn't bother me.As to the cooling powers of the hat, I mostly use it on hot days when I am lounging in the pool to shade my face and keep me cool as I work on my tan. I dunk it in the water then slap it on my head. The only part of this hat that is going to cool you is the top and the inner rim that goes around your head. So for as much water as this hat soaks up, it really doesn't do much but run off and provide shade like any other hat. It stays cool for what seems a short amount of time but it does help. If you are on the go, I would keep a spray bottle handy so you can keep misting the top and inside every hour or so and get a lot more mileage out of it. Overall, it is a good hat but I feel the ball cap style hat is better for day to day. That one soaks up your sweat better than this one and if you do start to overheat with it on, take it off and it'll cool you down again once you put it back on after a few minutes thanks to the sweat retention. Both benefit from keeping a spray bottle nearby, and I do consider that a must have if you are trying to get these things to cool you down, but if I could pick only one I would go with the cap but luckily the world doesn't work that way so I can use the cap at work and then this bucket hat around the house and pool. This cap is definitely a bigger help in rain as well thanks to the wider brim. While it isn't perfect it is still worth buying just remember to have realistic expectations. An hour of good cooling effect after a good soaking and maybe you can get two hours in shade under ideal conditions. Every person is different too, so that is just my experience. Regardless, it is a worthwhile purchase and I am happy with my Mission hats.

Quality made, I work outside and this definitely helps. Last 15-25 mins and re apply water. Or if dry its still a good sunblocking lightweight breathable hat

Hat fits well. It is light weight and easy to wear, but the brim is floppy, not stiff so it sometimes feels "bonnet-like" the way the side brins flop down. Since it is lightweight, I don't sweat in it as much as my other hats. And this hat is made to get wet and help cool youGood sun protection and very foldable.

Absolutely awesome hat! I was worried it would be a little thicker than what I wanted because of the pictures but it is nice and thin on the top and brim is a good size (not commically overly large like some boonie hats I've seen but not so short that it doesn't cover the ears).Saw others reviews and pics of the brim being lopsided when going for the cowboy look and yes, that happens but with a floppy brim that is normal and you just have to pinch and mold it to the look you want.I have a big fat head and this doesn't feel uncomfortably snug but actually feels like it fits just right so the band is definitely adaptive to the head it goes in.Highly recommend!

As a hat, it works fine to keep the sun out of my eyes. I like the chin strap for windy days. I’m not so sure about cooling properties. I followed directions, wet it and wrung it out well. The back of the brim lays on my neck which I guess does cool it but it’s kind of uncomfortable with a wet strip laying there getting the back of my t-shirt wet. The brim seems to be cotton but the rest of the hat is constructed of synthetic fabric which doesn’t retain moisture. Other than the back of the brim, I don’t experience any cooling effects. Still, I use it because it’s a decent hat and I like the colors.

awesome sun hat, good for all outdoorsmen and women, love that it has buttons to put up like a cowboy hat or one sided like a pirate, quality materials to the wash, bought this to store away, my other one is three sunners old, will last years and become your go to hat, enjoy! 🤙🏻
