We have our lights set up with smart plugs and can operate them with Alexa or Apple Home. However, it was getting frustrating to yell orders anytime we wanted to enter a room or the garage. We saw these motion sensors on YouTube and really like them. We have one sensor set up in each room and we set up routines to have the lights go off after a certain period of inactivity as well as turn on when we arrive inside a room. My favorite location is the garage where I can quickly run out to grab something for dinner and the lights come on quickly and turn off again within 5 minutes. They are very responsive and I love the flexibility to set up a variety of routines with them. For example, I keep the one on in my home office most of the workday and have a different schedule after hours where they shut off more quickly. This motion sensor hub and the sensors are a fantastic enhancement to a smart home. They are also very user friendly to set up and easily program with your smart home system.

You have to have it for what it says you must have it for. I have it for the temperature monitoring the batteries are still working like new. The electric monitoring is like so cheap like almost nothing. If you are concerned about how much electricity it uses don’t. It is 0.188kwh Runtime 399.3 hours. So about 24 cents. Maybe 40 cents tops probably maximum 30 cents. I am still trying to learn how to read the electrical bill. It really cheap to run I promise. The runtime and power used are like for sure. It does what is says. This is not garbage you will use it

Tapo has quickly become my all-time favorite brand in home automation. The battery life on their wireless sensors is super, and the connectivity is almost always on-spot. I've had this motion sensor in a high-traffic area for over a year and have not yet received a low-battery notification. I haven't had anything fail yet and as long as the network connection is solid, they're very responsive!! These are Chineese-owned, so whatever telemetry data they're sending over seas can be questionable.. Especially at the pricing point most Tapo devices sell at. It just seems like a high quality, great value for your money!

I got these motion sensors along with a smart led strip to connect to Alexa so I can create automated stair lights. These worked perfectly! They connected to the tabo app easily as well as Alexa. And in Alexa I created a routine to turn the lights on when the motion sensors are trigger and off after 1 min of no motion. They're wireless and run on replaceable battery, so you can place them anywhere. You will need the tabo hub though as these won't work right out of the box.

What an amazing product! Setup is quick and user-friendly. I had the hub and two sensors up and running in less than five minutes. Remote access and history download worked perfectly. The hub has excellent range also. Highly recommended!

I have this hub coupled to four water detectors. I have other TP Link products in use and they have not disappointed so I thought I would give these a try. The software is top notch and constantly updated. I have a high deductible homeowner's policy and installed four of the water detectors for a piece of mind. I travel a lot and felt like this was a good investment. Interestingly, one of them went off the first night as a result of a very small, occasional leak in my kitchen sink. The alarms are quite loud. Long term, that leak could have been a problem. These seem reliable and the battery life is very long. I recommend. This hub is a required part of the system.

The Tapo sub-1GHz iot system is great - great utility and great value. I now have several environmental sensors, buttons, water leak detectors and motion sensors through our two storey home and they work great. Beware that things like large metal objects (our external doors) and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi interference can still affect systems like this, so be careful with your placement. However, it's so cheap to just buy another hub to solve any persistent connectivity issues that it's really not a big deal. Also, Wi-Fi, even with a great mesh system, is less reliable than sub-1GHz. My bottom line? This is a great system to invest in. Plus, it complements Tapo's other (Wi-Fi) smart devices.

I didn’t set out to buy a smart hub with a chime. But when I got the Tapo temperature/humidity monitor for my insurance discount, I found out it won’t work alone—it needs this hub like a sidekick in a buddy movie. Setup was pretty painless: plug it in, connect it to Wi-Fi through the app, and it’s ready to be the middleman between your sensors and your phone. Once it was in place, my temperature monitor started sending updates instantly, and now I can get alerts no matter where I am. The chime is surprisingly loud for its size—great if you want audible alerts, less great if you forget it’s armed and scare yourself half to death. The size is nice and compact, so it doesn’t hog outlet space. That said, you’re committing one outlet permanently to it, and it’s another device in your home that needs occasional firmware updates. Also, if you’re not using other Tapo smart devices, it feels a bit overkill—like having a full-time butler just to answer the door twice a year. In the end, it’s a necessary piece of the puzzle if you want the Tapo environmental monitor to work, and it does its job well. Just be prepared for your smart home family to grow whether you planned for it or not.

Even though the dimensions are literally on the second photo, it was difficult for me to visualize until in my hand. The sensor is quite small but very effective. I use this for my bathroom lights, and jimmied up a little box that the sensor sits inside. It only detects motion when walking past the threshold of the door. Walk in, lights on. Walk out, lights off. And I even have the sensitivity set to Low because it will detect even the smallest movement from a few feet away when set to High. Tapo products are well made and reasonably priced. I would recommend this sensor, paired with smart bulbs, to anyone wanting to automate their home. And the app makes programming very easy. There's now a 60 minute limit in the bathroom. If the lights are on and there's no motion for 60 minutes, the lights turn off. Truly a great product!

This gadget works great. You dont even need alarms in your house. This is loud and annoying but excellent gadget I recommend this item from TP-LINK. There gadgets are amazing and good quality.
