Looks Like a Brooks, Fits Better than a Brooks.
I am new to minimalist shoes and properly fitting for wide-toe box and splaying my toes. After reading reviews on several products, I decided on Whitin. So far I have tried their canvas and relaxation fit. For my style, relaxation fit is the best for me.I apologize for the long review; however, I did this to help others ensure they get as close to a fit as possible the first time. In normal shoes I wear a 9.5W in Brooks Ghost 16. Between AI and the Whitin instructions on measuring for a proper size, my foot size is the following in Whitin measurements: 10.6 Length max by 4.2 width max.In the Whitin running shoes, I ordered a 12W. In comparison to Black Brooks Ghost 16 9.5W, they look nearly Identical. As for size, the Whitin at 12W are obviously a bit longer by 1.5-2 inches and the toe box is nearly the same, maybe a wee bit wider. Where you see and feel the difference is the toe splay area. Whitin is wider. In the Brooks, the angle across the pinky toes come in at a lower angle, contributing to the pinky toes feeling cramped. How did the Whitin 12W running shoes fit? It’s a bit too long for my feet, but manageable. Once these wear out, I will order 10W. Then they shoe fit much better.Soon, I will be trying their food service shoes and anything with the relaxation materials and will provide my review in hopes it will help future Whitin fans. Most of us grew up on mass-produced shoes that are tailored to all. For those looking to sustain proper foot health or improve foot health, these shoes are the way to go. If you’re thinking about switching from the “normal” we all have been taught, these are a great starter. Just remember to measure your feet correctly. The old, normal shoe sizes might not work. Good luck!

A Real Shoe
Whitin has met the standard as a quality shoe maker with this pair. I have put them through the ringer riding few thousand miles on a bike, hundreds of hours exercising on concrete and many thousands of hours wearing them out as my only shoe since the August of 20'24.With well over 10k steps walked every day, there is barely any wear on the fabric, the tongue and the bond between the souls and the upper body. Even the shoe laces have held on for the journey. Not until recently have the bottoms of the shoe lost any significant amounts of traction, but I also began incorporating motions into my workout that put a lot of stress on the material, specifically against the coarse concrete slab I exercise on.These shoes are well worth the money at $50.00, in fact, I bought a replacement set and two other colors, to boot.I would hardly ever do a product review, but these Whitin shoes have satisfied my thirty years search for a reliable, and honest, wide toe shoe for active wear.

little loose but better on concrete
I ordered this shoe A. cause its cheap and B. I needed something more comfortable in the barefoot world on concrete. Im knew to the barefoot scene but 1 hour power walk in my $160 vivo barefoot shoes on pavement was a little rough cause there so thin in the sole. these $40 whitin shoes still have a wide toebox and zero drop in heel but the sole is a little thicker so its more comfortable IMO on pavement. Only complaint toe box a little loose, besides that I love running errands in these,

wide foot fantastic
I have only had these a few days but I love them. I am female with very wide feet - 3.8 inch wide. It is very difficult to find shoes that fit and not cause pain. These actually work. I can measure my foot, decided to go for the size listed at 4 inches wide at a Euro size of 42. They are long but I am use to that, the beauty is they are actually wide enough so my little toe does not get squished under my foot or rubbed raw. I am not in constant pain - something I’ve been dealing with all my life. These are the first zero drop I have tried. I am not a runner and seem to get weird cramps when using running style shoes. These do not give me cramps. They felt weird at first but the short break-in was well worth the effort. I recommend. …will update later as I experience this different kind of shoe.Update 6/17/2025: Went on a 3 week vacation. Love these shoes even more. Kept changing back to these shoes because they don't give me pain, no matter how much I walked. I'm buying another pair - after I pay for my trip. Lol.

My new favorite shoes
I literally bought these shoes to prepare for and run a marathon in so they have seen some miles. I've gotten a lot into the zero drop shoes from heel to toe lately, but it feels like almost all of them have extremely little cushion beneath the insole. These shoes are a perfect blend of natural feel and protection. I now wear these things everyday just for walking or whatever. I love these shoes and they are gamechangers for me.

Pleasantly surprised! Awesome sneakers!
Bought these for my 2 week trip to Japan and Vietnam. Wanted a cheap alternative for a lightweight sneaker for walking around. Well, after averaging 25k steps a day over the 2 weeks in these babies I’ve got to say I made the right choice! They held up phenomenal, were very comfortable and supportive climbing the steps of Mt Fuji, to walking the streets of Japan, to hiking adventures in Vietnam. I brought 2 other pairs of sneakers but I chose to wear these every single day because of their comfort, breathability and discreet yet cool styling. After 2 weeks they held up well and look as they did when they were new, the pictures I included were after the 2 week period of use. If you’re considering these, just get them, you won’t regret it! I wear a size 12 in Nike and purchased a 1 size down because of the width and the fit was perfect.
