Q: Is there any way to mute/unmute while on a phone call using the touch controls?

Hi, thanks for your interest in soundcore liberty 4. Liberty 4 cannot mute/unmute while on a phone call using the touch controls for now.

Q: Anybody found foam eartips that work other than comply brand (they fell apart quick)

I use foamtips from Samsung (earbuds pro). These are black so you can't use the heartrate monitor.

Q: How is it compared with soundcore L3P?

I can only answer this based on trying both in the store (Shibuya, Tokyo) before deciding on the L4. The 3 sounds good but the bass and depth of sound for music I like best (classic 70’s guitar rock) was much better on the 4, hands down. Besides that I found the 3 too big and bulky. Happy I made my purchase I had thought I lost my Apple AirPods Pro but found them, the L4 much better IMO.
