Product Description This highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise is set in post-apocalyptic 2018, with Christian Bale starring as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind. UHD release In the aftermath of Judgment Day and the takeover by the machines, John Connor (Christian Bale, The Dark Knight), the destined leader of the human resistance, must counterattack Skynet’s devastating plan to terminate mankind. As Connor rallies his underground desertcart.co.uk Review Terminator Salvation restores some of the balance of huge explosions and emotionally compelling plot to the Terminator series. Set entirely after the nuclear assault that left the computer system Skynet in control of the world, Terminator Salvation follows John Connor (Christian Bale) as he grapples with both murderous robots and his superiors in the resistance, who aren’t sure they believe the prophecies that Connor is destined to save humanity. Into the midst of this struggle tumbles Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington, who would later star in James Cameron’s Avatar); the last thing he remembers was being executed in prison decades before. Baffled, he falls into company with Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin, Star Trek) and a mute little girl who soon get captured--but Wright then meets and bonds with Blair Williams (Moon Bloodgood, Eight Below), a resistance fighter who remains loyal to the confused Wright even though Connor suspects he’s not what he seems--or what he believes himself to be. Terminator Salvation isn’t the astonishing synthesis of action and feeling that either The Terminator or T2 were. Despite this, Terminator Salvation has at least two skillfully orchestrated action sequences that will get your heart racing, and Worthington’s beguiling mixture of toughness and vulnerability gives his relationship with Bloodgood a genuine pulse. It’s imperfect, but compared with the hollow carcasses that most action movies (including Terminator 3) turn out to be, it’s worth seeing. --Bret Fetzer Review: Dont listen to the negative reviews; judge for yourself and you will be suprised. - Thank heavens they where brave enough to break awy from the tired formua of the last 3 movies. Sure the original Terminator was a classic; and the follow-up was a good sequel; but T3 was extremely poor and cheesey but maybe that was partly becuase they were going over the same old ground. What they should of done in T3 was to break away from the old Terminator-sent-back-in-time routine. From now on; when watching the Terminator series of films you should just leave out T3. The actual makers of this 4th movie have even stated that they made this film as a follow-on from film 2; they have completely disregarded the third film ..... as should we; it was that bad and almost ruined the franchise. Terminator 4 then is a refreshing change from the routine. No longer a film from the prespective of the past (our present) they are now telling the story of the future and mans resistance to the machines years after 'Judgement Day'. What is really clever however is that they have also turned the formua in on itself by making the past come to the present although not through any time machine. The action is excellent without getting too over the top. The scenes with the actual early-version terminators are also impressive .... especially since these earlier models being built before Skynet perfected linking living-tissue too machine; making them look almost like zombies or some super-mutant from the Fallout video-games. Honestly, if most people watch this movie with an open mind they will find a film that lives up very well with the first 2 movies and is a lot, lot better than the 3rd. The acting is decent, theres nothing wrong with the script, its not too over-the-top, the characters are interesting and overall this film is an intelligently achieved break from the tired old fomua. Good film. Review: Better than T3 by leaps and bounds - Firstly, I will say that I'm starting to lose faith with the human race over the bashing this film has had. I know people have their opinions as I do but this film really deserves more than it's getting. Some people are even complaining this is worst than Terminator 3. Well..... I'm just speechless at that given T3 was a complete mess. This film is really well-done, great special effects, great acting, great everything. I didn't find problems with Christian Bale's acting, I found it really good and he's tons better than whining Nick Stahl in T3. It's a great film and well worth seeing. I really do think this film deserves to be seen despite T3 bombing overall with fans. I think people who are new to the series should check it out but still keep in mind to check out the first 3 films otherwise this film will be all a tad confusing. Overall, I really enjoyed this film and it's a well deserved 5 stars. I wasn't sure I would like it all that much given the trailer showing all the action, looked like a big action movie but it's a lot more than just a popcorn movie. Plus, MCG didn't seem like he'd cut it for me but he did. There was a lot of action but there was a very strong story coming through at the same-time I felt. The arnold moment is great too. Highly recommended. Two thumbs up.

Great For the Fans! Good for the Casual Viewer too! A Good Reboot of a Famous Franchise
Here we are at the fourth entry of the Terminator franchise and the big questions everyone asks are; does it improve on the weakest episode ( the third film : Rise of the Machines) ? and does it live up to the first two films that are such amazing sci-fi classics? The good news for every Terminator fan is, that it certainly does improve on the Rise of the Machines. But on the down side, it doesn't quite live up to the first two films - but then, how could it? And so onto the good points. Firstly, it is dark and menacing throughout, and the landscape of the future is excellently done. It really does feel like you are in the world, post Judgement Day. Another definite winner is the character of Marcus played by Sam Worthington. He really steals the show in this film and outshines Christian Bale. Anton Yelchin plays a good Kyle Reese too and is doing pretty well for himself starring in both this and the excellent Star Trek reboot this year. There are plenty of nods to the earlier films too - a really amazing set piece with a really well done CGI cameo will have you on the edge of your seat. Tapes from Sarah Connor to her son are a clever touch too. Another nice clip, is how John Connor gets his face scarred (as shown at the start of T2).And what is really goo about these little touches, is that they are not handled as badly as those in Rise of the Machines which were ham-fisted at best, and at worst, humiliating for the fans. The film moves on at a nice pace too and you don't feel like it has been dragged out too much. This film has been touted as being the first in a new Terminator trilogy, and the Terminator licence is up for renewal, so this may be the last entry in the canon but on this showing, i believe there is enough here to justify the next two films. It is not the huge disappointment that Phantom Menace was! So, there are lots of good points to revel in. However, there are some down sides to this film. The weakest element is actually John Connor, played by Christian Bale. And i don't think this is all really down to Bale himself. He is great as Batman and was brilliant in the Machinist, but in this film he is outshone by Sam Worthington. It almost feels like the writers were too afraid of his character to do something different and new with him. He feels very one dimensional. Bryce Dallas Howard as John Connor's wife is very under-used too. I quite liked some of the ideas for her role that were put out in Rise of the Machines, but here she is not given much screen time, and little plot to work with. A cameo for Michael Ironside too could have been worked much better too. The main plot is a little bit weak too. This could be down to the fact that the writers knew this was going to be the first in a new trilogy and are saving better for later on (if it happens!). Luckily, the character of Marcus and his plotline masks this somewhat. Overall, i really enjoyed this film and will enjoy watching it time and time again. It has definitely got the franchise back on track, and i hope that the proposed trilogy is completed - it definitely merits the final two parts in my opinion. I would recommend this to fans of the franchise - there are plenty of things in here to please them. The fans will definitely get more out of this than your regular cinema goer. For the casual observer, it could be a little confusing to follow this film, so i would definitely recommend watching the preceding films to get up to speed on everything that is going on. For the fan, this would get four stars, and for the casual viewer i would give it three stars. If you want to see two more Terminator films then buy this and hopefully the producers will go and make them! On this showing, it is entirely worth it in my opinion.

Terminator Salvation is a great movie and the number 4 of this saga started in 1984 , mostly it reach its target but make a few errors in my point of view like two Terminator models are more like The Transformers (Motobot and Hydrobot). The story is very good and the special effects are simply amazing also the bonus material are not too bad since the Blu-Ray offer menu navigation beyond what simple DVD can do but you should get your Firmware updated for best viewing experience. If you are a fan of Terminator movies i strongly suggest you get also Terminator 4 : Salvation but you should get also Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles seasons 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray and see another Female Terminator called Cameron. The Sarrah Connor Chronicles get deep inside the concept of who , why and how Terminators have been created something the movies cant achives even when it get a long duration movie get Terminator : The Sarrah Chronicles are 31 Episodes of 45 minutes each. Finally to enjoy all of the Terminators movies you must accept to take the time to view them slowly one at a time and if you look around you Skynet the internet network around us is getting the control slowly of all what we use everyday so maybe not to far away from real .... The Movies in Theaters or TV Series about Terminator cant offer what it is available on Blu-Ray : the bonus materials and total control of viewing experience of course buying is more expensive that rental but if you want to be a movie collector that not too expensive. Also if you buy it before december 2010 you get a free download of the movie from iTunes on Mac and also there is an option for PC Windows Users , i use Mac so get a legal copy on my iPhone and it take only about 5 minutes to download and weight about 1.4 Gb in size.

I really enjoyed this movie. I think it was the best one I saw that year. The story was straight sci fi. The new vision of the terminator movie has a awesome variety of terminators. They are done from a motorcycle type to a human skeleton type to a huge space ship type. The visuals are very dark sort of like the last 2 alien movies were done. Also I saw the late Stan Winston worked on the movie. I think he did a lot of special effects in the alien movies. I think he did the alien queen in aliens. Anyway the special effect are really well done. I could forget about reality and just watch the screen and go to another place. That is when the special effects are done well. Also the world was well done and you could tell they spent the money to design many sets and have many location to keep the viewer interested. I compare the visuals of the world to that of Alien 3 or Alien Resurection. The music is done well and is very emotional. It was done by Danny Elfman. The acting and story was top notch. It is a story of sacrifice and redemption. The two leads Sam Worthington and Christian Bale were exceptional. Christian Bale is always good at getting you to care for his character. I think he is an actor that can bring out a lot of emotions for the viewer. I thought Sam Worthington was very good at this also in this movie. The woman Moon Bloodgood was good also and believable in her role. Anton Yelchin was also very good in his role. Also this movie had very mild cussing and the violence and content was not trashy or overdone. Which I think the last terminators went overboard on this. Recommended to families to watch with children over 13. I think the parents won't find anything objectionable. If you haven't seen this due to hearing that it wasn't good. Give it a chance. I liked it, maybe you will too. Kevin

<<< A few continuity errors (spoilers?) follow the Octothorpes >>> Earlier this year I enjoyed "Terminator Salvation" on a big-screen digital theater with a group of sci-fi friends and we all loved it. Then, being a huge fan of the Terminator franchise, I jumped at the chance to buy the 2-disc Blu-ray release. I just finished watching the "Director's Cut" and must admit to you all that "I Forgot How Good This Movie Is". It is a good sci-fi story, as well as a good sci-fi movie. But let's be realistic, it was the only sci-fi movie of 2009. "Transformers 2" was a fantasy and "Star Trek (reboot)" was a futuristic soap opera with one of the poorest sci-fi plots I've ever seen in a movie theater. ######################################################### <<< Tiny Continuity Errors >>> 1) in both releases, there is a noticeable annoying gap between the time that John Connor "exits the rescue plane" then "enters the submarine". This could have been easily fixed. 2) in the Director's Cut, the rain mysteriously stops between the time that John Connor leaves Blair Williams then returns to save her from attack by three men. This could have been easily fixed. 3) one possible plot weakness: all throughout the movie, people (including John Connor) are using two-way radios. You would think that Skynet would have been able to home-in upon these signal sources, and maybe Skynet did. Now if you think of Skynet as a chess-playing gaming system (TSCC fans know what I am talking about here), then even the voice of John Connor on the radio may not have been as valuable to Skynet as the destruction of the submarine which represented the top of the Resistance's command-control system. (think of a gambit in chess when one piece is bypassed in favor of a possible superior future outcome) 4) This is not a complaint, just a statement: Many people think the naked Terminator seen in the last part of the movie was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The actor was really Roland Kickinger with Arnold's face tweaked onto Roland's body via CGI. ######################################################### Two Blu-ray discs along with a digital-rights DVD (to download a Digital Copy to your PC) for less than $20. I hope bargain prices like this remain after the economy recovers.
