I have been subscribed for this tea for a long time now and I go through a tin of this a month because of howmuch I love this matcha tea. This is hands down the best matcha I have used for a latte ever and I have tried various teas. Keep in mind that this is a culinary tea meaning that my preferred use of this tea is for cooking, baking, or in my case, making a bomb latte. Culinary teas are also beneficial as they tend to be a bit cheaper and offer a bit more of those special nutrients that many matcha lovers seek. Ceremonial teas will have a more smooth flavor that is unoffending, making it better for consumption in the traditional way (with just water). You can use either in a latte, I however, I prefer the flavor of this culinary tea as it gives you a very complex, earthy, savory umami flavor with your lattes. I find that ceremonial teas in lattes lose their complexity of flavor when mixed with milk and sweetner. There are a few ceremonial teas that can hold up to a latte, but culinary teas win in lattes and this one beats the rest of the competition in my opinion while at a very reasonable price point considering the quality. The tin that they give you even screams quality. Time and time again at any local tea store, whenever I am tempted to try a matcha latte anywhere to see if I can maybe discover something even tastier, I am always disappointed that I have yet to find a place that can make a latte that competes with the one I conveniently make at home. Word of advice, you will need to tinker with the proportions of ingredients when making this tea into a latte. A small bit of powder is very flavorful and can throw your latte into being bitter or too bland if you don't get it right. So if you do find it to be too bitter, play with it a bit next time. Honestly this tea even holds up to the traditional way of drinking matcha if you don't mind a much more earthy taste, but perhaps most would not prefer drinking this tea that way and should stick to ceremonial tea in that regards.

bought this because my usual Ippodo matcha is sold out constantly, its hard to find anything similar. i think this one is close! not bitter or grainy, the packaging is adorable. color is good. i made at home caramel matcha with it! i usually make mine with cold water to go in my cold latte, hot water changes the flavor deeper but regardless of what you want both ways were delicious.

I used to buy Akira ceremonial matcha but it became too expensive...So I decided to try this and it tastes amazing and lasts long. I recommend wrapping it and storing it in the fridge so it keeps its color longer. As long as you don't use high temp water, there is almost no bitterness and it has a very earthy taste. I recommend!

I have never written an Amazon review, but I was so happy with this Matcha, that it actually compelled me to write this review. I have been a huge matcha drinker for years and have tried many different brands; most of which, to be honest, are not that distinguishable from one another. For the money, this is the absolute best one I have tried. The color is a vibrant, verdant green hue and you can smell the sweet grassy flavor as soon as you open the package. The flavor is rich and complex; standing up to a a latte preparation while still having matcha as the prominent flavor (this is generally not the case with most other culinary grade matcha teas). The tin and packaging are really attractive, making this an overall stellar purchase. The extra dollars are very much worth it in this case as this is likely some of the best culinary grade quality you're going to find. I'm officially impressed and will definitely be a repeat customer.

This may be my new go-to matcha brand. I was partially drawn in because of the cute tin. The design makes it effectively air-tight, so I feel like this powder could stay fresh for a long time. The flavor is pretty mild with a bit of bitterness - I usually will combine this powder with soymilk and a tiny bit of sweetener to make a latte. Super smooth and mellow! I know this is billed as "culinary" grade, but it's pretty good on its own too, made with just hot water. I find that if I prepare this with only water, it's hard to get the powder to fully incorporate into the drink and powder will settle on the bottom after a minute or so. But, I have had this same problem with other, more expensive brands. Overall, I am very happy with this product.
