This book is a work of art! All the projects are unique and the pictures of them are detailed and beautiful, and they capture each project perfectly, but what I love the most about it are the written words. Laura does a fabulous job of explaining in depth each project from details on certain stitches to the kind of yarn you should use and why. I feel like I am an experienced knitter but I'm always wanting to learn new techniques which can be hard to find. With each and every project from this book, I find I'm in a classroom learning something new about knitting and that is truly a wonderful gift from a book.I also love how Laura's pattern are refreshing! How many times have you knit something and every pattern starts exactly the same way and while some things are different, you are essentially knitting a similar pattern. With Laura's patterns, you are never going to go the same route. It's like she takes you on a ride that you'venever experienced before. You may be knitting a shawl or gloves or a hat but the way she gets you from point A to point B is ever-changing which in my opinion, keeps the patterns fun.This book will definitely keep you busy and I highly recommend it to all knitter's both beginners and more experienced ones as we can all and will learn something new with this amazing book. It should be an essential part of every knitter's library.

Very attractive patterns, I am eager to delve into making them. What I really like off the bat is that there is good reference content in the back (explaining how to do typical stitches and techniques), as well as extra reference/teaching content in two places within the book - one for how to read lace charts, the other for how to manage adding beads to the projects. The projects range from beginner to advanced, and the supporting information is there to help guide a new beginner so that they can accomplish their desired project. And that is just her lovely book. On her web space, there are also tutorials that help with even more support for successful knitting. Bought one for me, then immediately ordered a second as a gift as soon as I saw that my purchase was well worth the cost. An impressive book!

I love Laura Nelkin and have taken every Craftsy class she's ever taped just because she's such a joy to watch and her knits are so fun to make. Laura has many beautiful patterns in this book, and I definitely recommend it. But her website, Ravelry, and Craftsy classes also have a lot of fabulous patterns, and I didn't think this was her "best" collection. Still way worth the price, and I'm not at all sorry I bought it. But I also recommend visiting her on her other websites and Craftsy (especially if you like knitting with beads).

I bought this book because I took Laura Nelkin's "Craftsy" class on knitting lace shawls. I absolutely loved the class and the patterns, so I had to buy this book as soon as it came out. There are lots of different accessories and each one shows off Laura's wonderful design skills. If you live in a cold climate or have close friends or relatives that do, there are mitts, gloves, cowls and scarves that would be wonderful to wear or make as holiday presents. I have several projects in the works right now that have to be finished, but the first one after those are done will be one of the beautiful shawls from this book.

I love the variety of patterns, from small that will allow you to use up leftover yarn to large shawls. You can practice new techniques on the small projects before launching into a large design. The patterns are clearly written. If you buy the Kindle, version there is an online resource where the chart PDFs may be downloaded so you can print them out to make them easier to follow. I have been wanting to make the Cha-Ching Mitts on the cover since the preview of the book.

Laura Nelkin's first book beautifully reflects the passion, support and humor that she's put into all her designs since she began her career. It is extremely well written, and every section features patterns that gradually increase in complexity. I absolutely recommend this book to EVERYONE, even beginners, because it's designed to help build your skills. And, as always, the designer herself is willing to help each and every one of her fans if they stumble. This book is definitely worth picking up!

Laura Nelkin writes beautiful, sometimes hard to do, patterns. The amazing thing about her patterns is that she almost always does teaching videos on them so there is always help if you need it. So, having knitted many of her patterns, I can say that I not only end of with a beautiful to wear knitted garment but I have learned another new technique or two or three in knitting.

This book is beautiful. There are lots of techniques I haven't tried and lots how to pages with diagrams. There are so many gorgeous patterns in this book, I don't know what to knit first. Well Laura - wonderful, wonderful book!
