The Forbidden: A Fantasy Fiction Series (The Ancestors Saga, Book 1) Paperback – 4 Jan. 2023

A good friend recommended this to me and I’m so pleased. It pulled me in. My heart hurt as I read it and I have cried a few times. As a mother I know our bond to our children is above all else. The hardships endured are so severe I was constantly compelled to read further. To find a way forward. I felt so tied to the characters I even dreamed of them when I slept. Not many books are able to do this.

Enjoyed the read but it became predictable as the plot preceded, it was obvious that it was part of a series that was being sectioned off into different story lines.

Really enjoyed this book. Eager to read the follow up. The story kept me gripped and looking for what happens next. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys ancient sagas.

Difficult to read but even more difficult to put down,my imagination took me with the characters through the struggle to survive while trying to appease their gods in long ago days. Was this really how we started our long journey into today.

I found that this was a well written and quite entertaining story. I downloaded a sample of the second book but it clearly was a new story about new characters and I wasn't engaged enough to read more than the sample. The first book reads fairly well as a standalone story so if you are interested in this sort of fiction then its worth buying and there are no cliffhangers which make you feel you have to buy the remaining books in the series - which is quite refreshing. I might return to the series at some point in the future, but I don't think so. Improvements would have been to have had some of the characters from the first book carrying on into the next, have a clear direction and plot for the remaining books. I admire the author for having written so many books and for her writing style, I just feel that her plotting needs to be tightened up and the stories given a bit more direction.

Intriguing start to what promises to be a riveting series. Having just finished book 1 I’m definitely going to buy the next in series.

A good page turner and well worth reading. I felt I was there every step of the journey in this book.
