Amp Jewel, Blue

I wanted a change from the red lights on my Vibro Champ and Princeton Reverb so I picked this and a purple Amp Jewel. When the amp is powered on, the dark blue of the jewel light turns very pale blue.If you're familiar with Star Wars, think of the color of Luke's lightsaber in A New Hope vs. the later movies where the blue is much more vibrant. I included a bit of blue pool noodle to show just how pale it is.Does it work? Sure, but it's not what I was hoping for. It looked the same with the Vibro Champ too. Perhaps I should take some of this contrast paint I have for some D&D minis and stain the inside of it. That might help make it darker.I will say that it was super easy to change out and it looks very different than the red jewel light the amp came with.Edit 12/20/22: I paint miniatures and used a blue Citadel Contrast Paint (I forget the exact color) to paint the inside of the jewel light. The Contrast paint is thinner than a typical paint and acted as more of a tint/stain. It made the light closer to the blue I was hoping it would be. That doesn't change my review, but wanted to offer a potential solution for others.

Although this jewel looks blue, it is purple over the light. It does fit my '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. I ordered a genuine Fender blue jewel as well but I thought it might be too bright. The blue Fender jewel looks turquoise and is not too bright. It matches the turquoise lettering on the amp. I will use the genuine fender and not this one.

I had to buy a new bulb for my Fender Deville 212, and since the seller (AmplifiedParts) offered to combine shipping, I added this for a couple of bucks. (Sort of a "want -fries-with-that" sorta deal).Quality is identical to the original. They could have been made in the same factory for all I know. I couldn't tell a significant weight difference either (not that I used a scale or anything, just with the eyes closed tossing in hand method). Like others, I agree that it's not a deep sapphire blue like the picture might show, but looks a bit whiter, like a white blue. I guess the bulb strength is too much? Anyway, it's different and cool.Easy to install: try with fingers first to unscrew the old one if that doesn't work, get a damp cloth and gently grip it with some pliers and twist. If your changing the bulb, (like I was) it is your standard spring socket. Push straight in and twist, it should pop out. Install is the reverse, but I'd try not to screw it too tight so it's not a bear to get off he next time!5 stars.

Blue jewel. I have a white LED bulb in my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, so this bulb (and most every other one) is very very bright. The jewel that came on the amp is a very dark red, but blue is my color so I switched. Best price. May get a bunch in other colors

I have to give this a 3, considering I wanted a blue jewel, and it is blue when it's off, but as soon as you flip the switch, it's more like a white jewel. Quick shipping and great service and all, but way off on the color.

Why use red when there is blue jewels like this one. Looks awesome with purple LED's in place of the incandescent. And yes, those are purple LED fans shining through in the back of the amp. Really improved my tone. Many music producers have since contacted me only hearing the rumors of me using these on my amp and already want to sign me for big $$$. Using these different colored jewels also is quite intimidating for other guitar players clearly lacking this essential mod. Many other bands guitarists have backed out of shows with us due to the almighty power of this amp jewel. Steve Vai has even called me personally to concede his thrown as a guitar God to me just for adding this to my amp!

Well made replacement jewel. Installed on a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, it fit perfectly. With the standard bulb installed it looks more white when illuminated, but I changed to a blue led bulb and in combination with this jewel it is now a really nice deep, bright blue.

This amp jewel fits fine, but the color was very washed out. I ordered blue and it was mostly showing a clear glass with a tinge of blue, white than any color.
