Overall decent quality and would recommend
I found the build quality to be decent for a "knock-off" of the real thing. The visible green LEDs are very bright and the white strobe function works well. Looking through a PVS-14, the steady IR light is fairly bright. The IR strobe feature is more of a slow "blink" and not a quick strobe like the visible light. So far, this product seems to do what I intend it to do. It's definitely not a $300 Hel-Star. However, for the price point, it suits my needs just fine. I would recommend this to anyone that needs IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) for airsoft, LARPing, hiking, or whatever.

great strobe, just dont leave it on IR
This strobe works great. It fits perfectly on the top of my HHV Helmet all three modes work great. Both red light and IR strobe are extremely bright and offer great illumination for making sure you have no blue on blue accidents. Highly recommend. At its price point id say its worth every penny. Make sure when storing you switch the selector to a visible light setting so you can ensure it is off. I left it on IR when storing and hadn't got the on off switch flipped all the way off and the battery was dead when i pulled it out again.

It’s no Helstar, and that’s ok.
The media could not be loaded. It works as advertised. The IR modes work and are quite noticeable under NV. The visible mode could be useful for a civilian SAR application as well, or maybe as IFF for an airsoft game or something. Unclear how it will hold up to the elements but some sealant in the right places will take care of that. For the price point, it’s a great alternative for the weekend LARPer, or anyone who can’t justify shelling out $200 for the real thing.

Pretty good
This is obviously not the $300+ or light marker. But for the money it works fantastic. The IR actually works, and it sometime too bright in NODS. Works great to with FLIR systems as well. Good quality for the price.

Infrared was the key and it delivered.
For airsoft/hobby/training use, a good buy. The critical point for me was if the infrared leds were legit. They are. The color LEDs are reasonably bright without being too much. The unit has ok battery life and build quality, especially for the price. Even came in a hard case with foam to keep it safe when not in use. Props to the manufacturer on that. It doesn't seem water proof but I didn't test it via submersion. It did handle some rain ok, though. I'd be careful with rain. All in all, will buy this one again if I need to.

Solid strobe sent the wrong color
It’s a decently bright strobe both vis and in ir and is actually pretty durable so far only issue is I ordered a green one and was sent blue but considering 90% of it’s use is in ir it’s ok ig I definitely would buy this over the $200 version as it’s held up just as good as my real hs6

The parasitic battery drain is real
I use this pretty frequently and have a few complaints. This may sound crazy, but the thing is just too bright. In the visible light mode, the strobe blinds the people around me to the point I had to put 3 layers of masking tape over the lights just so everyone can see what's going on around me. Under NODs the IR setting is a good level of brightness, or so I'm told. This thing eats through batteries, and be sure to take the battery out when not in use because it will DRAIN that baby so fast. At first I thought I had left the IR setting on, but I did an experiment after replacing and verified the IR setting wasn't on and it drained the battery in less than 24 hours. Could have a lemon but another guy who has one in my group experienced similar results. The nice part is that this takes CR123A batteries, the same as my Night Vision unit, so I always have batteries on hand for this hungry beast. The battery door is a flat head screw and you should always have a Leatherman on you anyways, so taking the battery in and out isn't too terrible. It has just become part of my final equipment deactivation when I remove the battery from my NODs.Its cheap, but... it's cheap
