very slow to fix bugs this year
i have been using turbotax business for a number of years, and it has worked quite well. i can't tell how this year is going yet, because i can't get the state software from them. there is a bug in the software that prevents you from purchasing and downloading state software. i have spoke with the turbotax people about a week ago, and they said the problem had already been reported and they were working on it. that means they have known about the problem for at least a few weeks, and despite having provided several updates over that time frame, the bug is still there. this is not acceptable for such a vital function of the software.so, i would normally have given them five starts, but i am knocking off a star because they are not being as responsive as they should be. i would still recommend their product for tax prep, but if their engineering and support start to lag, i will find other software.

I could not efile federal or Va state taxes
I have been a turbotax business user for 18 years. several years ago this product was a total disaster. I personally submitted several fatal bugs. The last couple years the quality has been increasing and last year 2016 , I did not have any issues. For the tax year 2017 I had only 2 Turbotax bugs, one was minor - could not print out attached supporting details for the data field "taxes".The second was major and caused me not to be able to efile both my federal and state taxes . The error check at the end of the process claimed I had an "estimated value" for the data entry for my EIN federal tax number. None of the hours of work arounds I tried worked and I could not make this error message go away. I had to print and mail my federal return vi US postal service. This error check also prohibited turbotax from efiling my Virginia tax return. Virginia will only accept efile , so I was dead meat. I called the Virginia Taxing authorities and found I could submit a paper form that would permit me to file by paper- I have to wait 2 weeks for the form and then submit it for approval. This all caused me 7 hours of unneeded work

This is truly annoying. Right now
This package states it is for partnerships, corporations, LLC's and Trusts & Estates. What it does NOT tell you is that you must buy a separate state package of forms for each type of business entity: $50 for LLC; $50 for partnership; $50 for Estate; and while I have purchased it must be $50 for a Trust return. And this all for the same state. This does not include electronic filing.I'd say that's something that is something that should have been disclosed.I am not done trying to use the state packages yet, but they do NOT transfer all of your date from Federal return, despite what the software or packaging says. This is truly annoying. Right now, the state partnership is more like a giant typewriter.

like a trust tax return
Approaching retirement age, I find myself running the financial side of a business, with little experience of what it would do at tax time. Well, of course I turned to Intuit, maker of the tax software I have been using since I stopped doing it by hand. The business is an LLC and indeed, the business tax software helped me file Form 1065 for it. New users may wonder what the connection to their personal taxes is; like a trust tax return, the output of the Form 1065 calculation is a Form K-1 that gives the income or loss for you to enter on the appropriate line of Form 1040. It will seem easier next year. Doing it for the first time was quite intimidating but not so bad as it would have been without Turbo Tax!Problems: it found errors but when I tried to type in corrections that wasn't possible. You have to go back to a different screen to correct some kinds of errors. More importantly, it's capable of taking numbers out of QuickBooks Desktop, but the process required to get them out of QuickBooks Online was so involved I gave up on that and typed the numbers in myself. That's mainly why I gave it only 4 stars.

WIll not save tax exempt income BEWARE
I have used TTB for several years to do taxes for a small LLC with dividends and tax exempt income. EVERY YEAR it does not save the tax exempt income on line 18. I have put it in over over again in both places ( under income in the dialog box and then again under other. I even manually inserted it on the M-1. Closed the program, opened it up and... blank.Unfortunately last years return while I thought I had sent it in complete was filed without the income so now I have to file amended returns.Unless TT can fix this simple problem I will not buy this again. I am buying Taxcut from now on.

Not usable. Missing forms. Could someone please buy Intuit a calendar?
Maybe these folks are not aware that taxes for corporations are due March 15, so making forms available for March 22 is not very helpful. It's not that easy to use, kinda buggy -- that's par for the course. Not being able to get my taxes done on time because the forms aren't ready? That goes beyond annoyance. If I had Intuit stock, I'd sell it.

Business 2017 does NOT have CALIFORNIA RESEARCH TAX CREDIT support
I have been a loyal Turbotax customers for many years, but now I am considering to look for another solution, because:1) State support has been declining over the years. For example latest versions do NOT have support for CALIFORNIA RESEARCH TAX CREDIT.2) Apparently, you cannot import a tax form anymore, for example the Form 3523, which is not supported by Turbotax Business 2017 right now, and you cannot import it in the return.3) I posted a question in the Turbotax Support page, and it was deleted without any consideration - So, I don't have an answer, and I don't know why they removed it. Was it because the product lacks appropriate support for California or because Turbotax Business cannot import missing forms?Considering (1) and (2), the review would be 3-4 stars because product has excellent features, but given the lack of appropriate customer support/interaction (3), unfortunately, it is a 1 star. I do hope that Intuit reads this comment, and improves the product and customer service, as I intend to update this review and hopefully continue using Turbotax!
