I have ALS which has weakened my voice and affected my arm/hand strength. I was looking for a voice amplifier to reduce how much I have to strain for people to hear me. While this is a generally good unit, it has some issues and other attributes that mean it isn’t good for my situation. If you are using this for classroom voice amplification, this may work well. If you are trying to augment a weak voice, especially if combined with dexterity issues, you may want to look elsewhere. Pros: - Good max sound volume - Good battery life - Battery percentage display on base speaker and LEDs on headset make it easy to know charge level Cons: - Weight and size of the speaker. Probably not an issue for some, but if I want to hang this around my neck or my belt, this is just too heavy and big. - Difficult to access charge port on speaker. Access cover is hard to unlatch, and then gets in the way of the charge port as you’re trying to insert the cord - Headset is oversized and a bit heavy. I have an adult size head, but the head hoop was too large to feel like it was secure, and the pads landed very far forward on my temples. - The mic appears to be trying to cancel background noise, as it misses low volume sounds, clips beginning of sentences if you don’t talk loudly enough. Fine for most people, but with my weaker voice, it was missing a lot of what I was saying.
