I have been a fan of Phil Collins since the days of Genesis, in fact most of the albums I have are almost mint condition vinyl. When I say I have been a fan that is to say not absolutely bonkers about him. Some good tracks and some mediocre.When I saw this Tamla Mowtown cover album, I thought I must give this a listen.I was not disappointed. His voice suits these Mowtown songs so well.I've already made a playlist for him to sing on his next album, including "swing your daddy" the old 70's Jim Giltrap song. That would be brilliant. Listen to the mp3 samples. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy

'The Essential Going Back:Deluxe Edition is a thoroughly excellent double CD,featuring Phil Collins at his best,with absolutely superb covers of 60s Motown classics.Even if you have the original version of this album,this deluxe edition is still well worth purchasing.Highly recommended.

Tutto quello che riguarda il mondo Genesis nn mi lascia insoddisfatto. Le rimasterizzazioni di album datati o meno è una nuova visione voluta dall'autore che sposa un nuovo progetto di ascolto. L'unica cosa richiesta è la passione per il progetto originale. Tutto il mondo Genesis fa parte della mia vita e l'amore per esso coincide con i ricordi di quei tempi e le emozioni che ancora oggi quel mondo mi induce. Phil Collins ne fa parte. Non riuscirei mai ad essere obiettivo. Se non avete il fuoco Genesis dentro, lasciate perdere, questa produzione Collinsiana, tra l'altro l'ultima del drummersinger, non fa per voi. Tutti gli altri, non hanno bisogno di recensioni.

I am going to write about the entire set here and that is because there are people that I am sure are much more versed on Phil than myself. I am just a fan and love his music, so I will speak to the set itself. I think it was really smart doing the way they did in bringing it out in installments. It made it a bit more easy to pay for and fun in waiting for the next one at the same time. The quality of the remastering is just great. I mean wonderful. They did include extra bonus tracks and needless to say I love it. If you love Phil as much as I do you will love this set.
