After using the SSK 1TB Portable SSD for several weeks, I’m impressed by how much power is packed into such a small device - it’s roughly the size of two fingers. It moves my large files fast - it backs up my computer in minutes. It's a highly capable external drive!

Available for a Black Friday sale price of less than US$70, this external SSD hard drive was priced competitively, so I bought one for my new Tablo TV device to dramatically enhance its recording memory. Two obvious advantages of a SSD drive are speed and no need for external power. I might add that this drive was surprisingly small; no larger than a couple of my fingers. When I plugged it into my Tablo TV device it was immediately recognized with an offer to format it for use. Once that was done, the device showed the total of both its internal memory and this solid state drive. Since then, this drive has performed flawlessly and occupies just a tiny space next to my Tablo TV device as you can see in the accompanying photo.

Overall, this is a great SSD with ample space for the price. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for an external portable HD that has a large amount of space which is great for holding any type of file. My main use for this HD was to hold music files I am transferring from an older HDD hard drive. Please see my list of pros and cons below. Pros: - Item is well constructed and has a quality feel to it. - Item is compact and has a key ring attachment making it easy for transportation. - Data transfer speeds are fast, making it easier to transfer larger files or a larger number of files at once. - Good price for a quality drive with ample space. Cons: I honestly don't have any cons at this time. The only possible con is that from what I believe, you can only format this drive as exfat and not ntfs.

This is my first experience with an SSD external drive and I’m definitely impressed. I formatted it for my Mac and use it to edit videos off of. No lag issues, it works just like internal memory. Plus it’s much smaller than expected so it doesn’t take up any desk space

I actually had questions on this item and was able to email the manufacturer and got satisfactory customer service! They emailed me back and made sure all my questions were answered! That told me right up front that they stood behind their product! Drive worked flawlessly so far. Some of the reviews I read had problems passing data, and mostly it was the cable. Mine worked fine but if you purchase this try using a different usb cable and it s/b ok from everyone's advice prior to purchase. Prior to my purchase I had a different external drive. I can't mention the manufacturer but it was one of those bookcase 1 TB drives and you can figure that one out on from there. I am a musician. I put all my data on it, and could never access it again!!! Worked only once. - I regretfully should have read their reviews because it seems everyone was having the same exact problem. And this well known company doesn't do updates on their interface software and their customer service sucks. They didn't even want to talk to me, and couldn't help me! So buy this one and you should be ok. I like it, fits in your shirt pocket too!

This ssd is very easy to carry around and has very quick read and write speeds! I highly recommend this to others who need to back up files, or need an extra drive for day to day use.

This portable SSD is definitely quick and convenient — the transfer speeds are solid, and the compact design makes it easy to carry around. It works well across different devices, and setup is basically plug‑and‑go. The build feels sturdy too, which is a nice bonus. The only reason I’m landing at three stars is that it’s not quite as seamless as I expected. The connection can be a little finicky at times, and the casing warms up more than I’d like during heavy use. It still gets the job done and offers good value, just with a few small quirks to keep in mind.
